In today's video, I wanted to go through Mehrunes Dagon's Daedric Shrine quest, "Pieces of The Past" featured in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This quest begins with the player receiving a pamphlet for a new museum that opened up in Dawnstar. It's run by an Imperial, Silus Vesuius, a modern day cultists of the Mythic Dawn group. He shows the Dargonborn around his museum, explaining the importances of their robes, the Mysterium Xarxes the Commentaries of the Mythic Dawn, and of course, Mehrunes Razor. Silus would like for the player to go and retrieve the lost fragments of this Daedric artifact. Each piece belongs to a descendant of the group, Keepers of the Razor. These are Jorgen, Ghunzul and Drascua and they all live in different parts of the province. Procuring each piece, the player then returns to Silus who shares the final part of his plan. Together, the 2 of you seek out Mehrunes Dagon's Daedric Shrine and ask for the Prince to fix the blade. However, what happens from there is up to the player to decide. But there is something greatly amusing to me about a new Sheogorath turning up in the Daedric pantheon, speaking to Mehrunes Dagon as an equal while holding his dagger. He definitely didn't give it to the militia out of intent to keep it safe, I can absolutely see him doing it just to fuck with old Mehrunes and questline is essentially just the tail-end of a long battle between Sheogorath and another Daedric Prince that he decided to mess with, kind of like Azura's quest in Morrowind.
Skyrim was my first elder scrolls game, so this quest was always so interesting to me as someone who knew nothing about oblivion at the time
