"repressing it" is so real, it wasn't even my fault, I would cross dress at SIX but my parents caught it a decade before I would realize and they totally told me to just forget about it and that EVERYone felt like that sometimes haha
"is it worth it?" ... It's so easy before you transition to imagine all the bad things that might happen, and so hard to know all the good it will do you. It's always going to be something of a leap of faith. Subbed and best wishes for the channel 🏳️⚧️💜
Oh, I repressed for more than I decade with several realizations that I was trans followed by several relapses into repression. Mostly I just kinda wanted to be a girl but since thinking about it made it painful (bc it was kinda impossible for many reasons) I developed a very natural habit of repressing it and trying not to think about it. And I'm attracted to women and always wanted kids, so coming out as trans would, as I have thought, destroy my opportunities of having a family. But I'm autistic and good at dissociation, so repressing was kinda easy.
Study up on the stark conflict between western schools of psychology is in 180° opposition to Buddhist Psychology which embraces impermanence and the ability to accept constant change. In correlation to the self the i the id the ego ones identity
The Core Connection: Anatta and Sunyata In Buddhist philosophy, Anatta and Sunyata are not separate ideas; rather, Anatta is a specific application of the broader truth of Sunyata. • Anatta (Non-Self): This is the realization that there is no fixed, permanent, unchanging "soul" or permanent "I" at the center of existence. What we call the "self" is actually a dynamic, ever-shifting collection of components (thoughts, physical cells, memories, conditioning, and social roles). • Sunyata (Emptiness): Emptiness does not mean "nothingness" or a void. It means that all things are "empty" of an independent, inherent existence. Everything exists interdependently, constantly shaped and reshaped by causes, conditions, and contexts. The Connection: Anatta means the "self" is empty of a fixed essence. Sunyata is the reality that allows for change. Because the self is empty of a rigid, permanent blueprint, fluidity, healing, and radical transformation are entirely possible.
If Grant thinks the problem is in the brain, not the body, so we should fix the brain, not the body, he needs to show some evidence that there's a treatment for the brain that is anywhere near as effective as treatments for the body
