I saw a guy do this live recently, but he had a part in which he tied them all together to make one very long rope. Which isn't that impressive except he pulled it like a slip knot and the knots were no longer visible in the very long rope.

A really great explanation. I'm new to Rope Magic (typically a Card Guy) but this seems like a good entry level effect.

When I show this to children I make up a story about lying, cheating and stealing. I explain that some people think one is worse than the other while showing the ropes and then when I perform the illusion (I try and not use the word "trick"), I show that all 3 are equal and that lying, cheating and stealing are all bad and one is no better than the other. There are some religions (Southern Baptists) that think magic or tricks are the enemy's work but when done properly and with a religious story to go along with them, I see no harm.

Great video. The glue part is better than tape. 😊😊

When I return the ropes to their original lengths, I generally sort of wad them up in my hand and just start pulling them out one by one. It really doesn't matter what order they come out. If you bring the ends all back up as when you started, when you pull them out they will see the individual ends of which rope is being pulled. It probably doesn't matter but someone could point out that as you pulled them apart, the ends are not in the same order as when you started.
