The will of the many was great. She picked a good book.

Ok I loved the ending to “The Other”!Gagged me. I liked it even better than “The Extra.”

I really liked Wolf Worm! As always, the descriptions were so vivid that it was hard to put the book down and go to sleep, both because I was too into it and because I dreaded insect-filled nightmares.

I just looked at idle grounds and it has a whopping 3.15 on Goodreads which is Fun

I hear fever dream and woods and I’m sold

I just have to say that The Raven Boys would fit the theme

I nearly screamed when you picked the final book!!! I commented about it on your alphabet favourites video! Oh my goodness I'm so excited to hear your thoughts, if you do read it!

23:39-I'm always taking prompts from YouTube videos to build my monthly TBRs, and honestly, I take a lot of yours. Sorry, not sorry. In fact, I was just going through my list of books I read this year and my May theme literally says "steal most of McKenna's prompts from her April TBR" lol. I just finished a book called Happiness Falls by Angie Kim, and I'm starting The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern tonight. Other than that, I don't know what I am reading for October because the majority of the books I had planned based on prompts for October I actually ended up reading in September.

I’m currently reading Blacktail by Scott Hawkins. It’s one of my favorite genres: animal revenge on humanity. But it’s also quite deep among the animal characters. It’s also quite bloody in so many satisfying ways, which does nicely for October. You may enjoy it. :)

My husband picked the biggest book on my TBR shelves for a video last year - The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt (which I bought in a charity shop because I thought it would make for a funny video - which it did) - and it ended up being my favourite book of 2025...

Currently reading two books at once. An old 1993 paperback version of the Lord of the Rings (the Fellowship of the Ring), and The Hound of the Baskervilles on the Libby app.
A lot of what I read is dictated by what’s available on the Libby app and the prompts on the book bingo I’m doing. My next two books will probably be What Moves the Dead for “a genre I don’t normally read: horror” (since it’s available and it’s short!) and Piranesi for “a book with a one word title”. In November, or whenever I finish LotR, I’ll be reading Daughter of the Wind for ‘a book suggested by a friend”

The books I read last month were The Bear and the Nightingale, The Island of Doctor Moreau and After Dark by Haruki Murakami.

I've just decided to join your prompts this month as I haven't decided on any reading plans yet for myself this month. My picks:
YT scroll - Camp Damascus by Chuck Tingle
5 star prediction: The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett
GR scroll: Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff
brother picks (I don't have a sister): Bullet Train by Kotaro Isaka
feels seasonal: Wolf Worm by T. Kingfisher
tattoo chooses (I don't have any so I'm also reading your pick): Our Strange Duet by Erin A. Craig
random year generator (2015): Gutshot by Amelia Gray

Not sure if I can finish everything but I'm gonna try 🤞

I haven't seen one of your vids in a while so this makes me glad.

It has been a rough mid-year for me, still trying to regroup. So I have not been doing a ton of reading. However I did buy a Poe collection at a library sale, because most of my books are in storage and it doesn't feel like Fall until I'm reading some Poe. Also bought Agua Viva at B&N so I'm looking forward to that. Recently finished Starling House by Alix Harrow, that was pretty good. Other than that I've just been reading old copies of Poetry magazine.

Wolf Worm is high on my list. Maybe I'll join the club; I miss talking books with people.

I'm currently reading the will of the many and am almost finished with it and I absolutely love it but it is a lot of heavy world building!

@Samakain 12 hours ago (edited)

Well my sister won't stop raving about Will of the Many so i expect she'd do the same haha. And surprisingly there are a least 3 books on this TBR i will also be reading. How coincidental. But i'll also be knocking off Knock Knock Open Wide and the rest of Slewfoot.

Haha I am doing one of Leandra’s TBR bingos this month. Some reads I have planned: Between Two Fires, The Possession of Alba Diaz, and continuing The Raven Cycle.
Favorites of Last Month (all you may like): A Tale for the Time Being, The Raven Boys, and Red Seas Under Red Skies (the sequel to Lies of Locke Lamora, if you’ve read that and liked it.
Re: movie night: When I was a teenager I was babysitting for my toddler neighbor and the parents said he liked to watch The Land Before Time but I had to skip the one part…sure enough, when we got close, he started saying emphatically, “I don’t like the Sad! I don’t like the Sad!”
