Click the cheese 🧀

Ive been waiting for the day when someone would make a full video essay about Element's history, most people ONLY talk about the Minecraft stuff but dont shine light on everything else when its equally as good!!

Rest in piece to Scott, the voice of Element Animation's Steve.

Both of these have Steve Minecraft  and Jason as the main duo

guy from brazil here, i guess the reason that the element animation brazil channel exists is because some guy was fandubbing villager news and eggs guide to minecraft, to the point it got so popular that the element animation team hired him to dub official versions

It was genuinely such a missed opportunity for Element Animation to have some involvement in the A Minecraft Movie when I first watched the movie and saw the mid credit scene where the Villager spoke english, I was like "That is not how the Villagers would sound".

Element Animation is just one of those channels in the early YouTube days that basically shaped our lives up to today and is one of the very few that still stand to this day. I do wish that they'd keep on doing more episodes of The Crack as its what got their career started and the world some of the recent episodes in my opinion are a major increase in quality from some of the older ones not counting the one with the line "I want to kill Justin Bieber, but I'm still happy they're around and even becoming a major part in Minecraft as a whole.

Better jokes, more faithful, better animation (nowadays), literally beloved by the community AND official development team (THEIR take on villagers appear all the time in Minecon - it's insane, they're basically canon)

Compare that to the slop we got.
They should've worked on the official movie.

“Where’s The Beast?”
“It’s right there.”
“That’s a cow…”
“No it is not…”

”IT IS A VICIOUS CREATURE FROM THE DEPTHS OF THE NETHER THAT’LL ONLY BE SATISFIED BY THE BLOOD OF IT’S ENEMIES!!!”

I felt that Egg's Guide to deserve more love and attention just as much as Villager News

I don’t care how long I have to wait, I refuse to die until we get the (likely to be) final two episodes of An Egg’s Guide-

(I’m living in denial, help)

I’m still bitter about the Minecraft movie we got. I wish that the Minecraft movie was animated in a similar style to Villager News

An Element Animation bit I still think about occasionally is from one of the 12 days of Christmas videos in which Stormtroopers appear and start firing only for the blasters to be making a "pew pew" sound. When one of them asks why they make that noise, one of them just says "We don't have the rights to use the blaster noise." Such a stupid yet hilarious line. Thanks for the trip down memory lane with this video!

VILLAGER NEWS MENTIONED this peak

Saying there's already a better Minecraft Movie before the Minecraft movie was made is a bold claim, but it's not wrong

I also think the "grey period" had a lot to do with Youtube's algorithm changing to suit 'short' form content around that time. Big effort once a month producing channels just couldn't get the algorithm's respect, which pushed them out of view for many people. I vaguely remember Youtube was trying to rebrand itself away from video game content to more general variety stuff to bring in more demographics. Animators really took the hardest hit of all the creators at that time. Do remember, this was also before in-video advertising was considered acceptable and Patreon was more unknown, so Youtube's monetization was all they had to see any reward for their hard work.

It's also worth pointing out that Element Animation collaborated with Hermitcraft for their Season 8 finale.
Also, I'm pretty sure Villager #4's mustache is kept inside a case when it's not used.

These animated eggs are such a throwback lmao

Villager 4&5’s moustaches are fake according to the breaking news song

I grew up with element animation and adored it, especially Villager News. I'm glad they put it up on prime cause I wasn't really allowed to watch YT as a kid and this of all things woulda been a great sadness for me
Also Scot will always be how i envision Steve speaking and no one can change my mind

why didnt they let these guys voice the villagers in the minecraft movie
