I remember she wrote that humorous piece apologizing for her neck. When I learned of her death, I felt the loss of someone I would want as a friend. I thought, “Didn’t she know we don’t care about her neck, we love her mind, heart and wit.” Thank you for sharing this tribute. She made it acceptable to be smart and funny.
To be so betrayed at the one of the most vulnerable times in a woman's life, and to then have the strength of spirit, mind and body to allow herself to be open enough & use it creatively--- is almost superhuman. Heartburn just blew me away.
I am a better person because my childhood had Nora Ephron’s movies. I am a better husband because of Nora Ephron’s movies. I am a better human everyday because Nora Ephron’s legacy continues to live on, only to keep me a better Person, a better Husband, and a better Father, so my son can grow to be better than me. Thank you Nora 🥲🙏🏼💜🥲🥲
What a sad time not having "Nora Ephron" who we will miss her incredible writing about how women think about circumstances with men. I truly will miss her wisdom and enjoy watching any new books or movies she has created. RIP Nora we miss you!
She never told her friends she was sick, and it seems to have really bothered some of them, but I think that was her ultimate act of friendship. Those last lunches and visits were all the better and more normal for their not knowing. I hope there is a Heaven, for what a place it must be.
I saw her at a party in NYC when no one knew she was ill. If I’d known, I would have hugged her and told her how much we all loved her and her spirit, wit, insights and writing.
