There is lots of phragmites growing where I go for my usual walks in the early morning, so I could easily get some to use for dyeing. That is a lovely colour you showed us. One of the many good things about early morning walks is that fewer people are around to see the eccentric woman picking up oak galls, photographing bindweed up close, and staring through binoculars for minutes at a time into a tree!

I'm in agreeance, the gusset lining wih the pocket makes all the difference to this bag. The stitching is beautiful! All in all, gorgeous, practical and magical 😊 thanks for sharing Kathryn, you've certainly given me many ideas for a couple of Christmas gifts 😅 ❤

I absolutely love your pouch, Kathryn! ❤ love everything about it, the stitching, the closure, and the colours, especially the touches of gold and acid green. I know I have said this many times, but I'm definitely going to make a pouch. When I return to my home town and everything is sorted. TSYMFS ❤

OMG I cut it wrong! Egads LOL. I can't believe it. And the really bad part is I actually took pictures of yours AND made a drawing. And yet I still cut it wrong. Wow...absolutely incredible. Oh well. What can you do except start all over. I love slow stitching so I'll start again while watching your lovely videos. Off I go, more tea dying, more squares and more videos!! ❤❤❤❤❤

What a beautiful and handy lttle pouch. It takes me back to the early 1970's when my Gram made me a long Velvet (real velvet) skirt and a pink silk top to wear to a college formal. She made me a red velvet clutch bag the same shape as your pouch to carry to the dance. I wish I still had it but it got lost somewhere during many moves. Thank you for sharing and reminding me of a sweet memory.

Another way to do the gusset bottom is to cut a square from the bottom corner, open the corner, then stitch it rather than stitch then cut the triangle. It is easier to cut as you are going through less layers.
