Goonies Never Say DIE!!!

The best part of the Goonies is that every single one of them has had an amazing life.

The Goonies, Labyrinth, and Big Trouble in Little China were my upbringing, pretty much. I never get tired of this film, ever.

28:29 - "Hey you guys!" is from an old children's television show, "The Electric Company".  The intro had a woman yelling that phrase.

9:19 I mean, Josh Brolin and Sean Austin. Two legends at they're beginning.

OMG THE GOONIES!! literally such a comfort movie, i used to watch this all the time 🥹 you end up loving this group so much, their chemistry together is just amazing. this was so fun to revisit with you!

That's what it was like being a Gen X kid. You got to wander around unsupervised with your friends. We all remember our first deadly booby-trap experience. It made us stronger.😁

Check out these movies if you haven’t seen them: Jumanji(1995), The Karate Kid(1984), Gremlins(1984), The Lost Boys(1987), and Stand by Me(1986).

Easily my favorite factoid about this is the crew refused to let the kids see the ship set before they came down the slides.  That reaction on their faces is genuine.

"Hey You Guuuuuys" was from the opening titles of The Electric Company, a kids educational show on PBS. Actress Rita Moreno screams that phrase for the show.

Spielberg played a prank on director Richard Donner after the movie wrapped. Donner assumed all the kids hated him since they all disappeared after the movie wrapped, so he flew to Hawaii for vacation.  Then all the kids and cast showed up at his vacation house unannounced to suprise him. Theres actual video of this on YouTube.

I don't want them to make a sequel.  I want them to make a *prequel* where they bring back the original cast to play One-Eyed Willy and his crew fighting and stealing gold and setting traps and getting trapped in the first place.

22:33 Mikey’s “it’s our time” speech is one of the best inspirational speeches in movie history , second to the President speech from Independence Day and  Captain America’s speeches in the MCU.

I love how the matriarch of the Fratelli's knows Mouths name, it shows that she is actually paying attention to a seemingly pointless encounter with a bunch of kids. Kinda scary actually.

28:18 Today's the day I noticed this is a twist on Scarface's "Say hello to my little friend."

For spooky season you neeeeed to watch The Monster Squad its Goonies meets classic monsters like Frankenstein and Dracula it is amazing. Now that I'm older I actually like it more than Goonies. Little Monsters is another 80s classic with kids as the heroes and still one of my favorite movies.

This is one of my fav movies ❤

'Time Bandits' is a Python-esque, kid oriented adventure movie you might like. As the title suggests, it is a time travel movie. It is more of a comedy than spooky movie, but it has some adult humor also.

I genuinely keep some halloween decor up in my room year around and it does in fact not get old! Just brings me some joy in my day to day life 😌
Can't wait to watch this reaction, it was one of my childhood favourites! 🥺

Cass, thanks so much for viewing and enjoying a truly classic movie, and one of my all-time favourites.

It might interest you to know that there was a novelized version of "The Goonies", which I've only read about but never seen for myself.  Apparently, it goes into much greater detail about the aftermath of the Goonies' treasure hunt, and it turns out that their ending was very, very happy indeed.  First of all, yes, their families were able to buy back their properties, just using the gems in Mikey's marble bag.  But after that, One-Eyed Willie's ship was tracked down and towed to shore, so that it wouldn't be a danger to shipping.  And then the entire treasure was put to use in improving all of Astoria, making it the best small town in America.

And one of the happiest parts of the story comes at the very end, in the form of a newspaper clipping.  It's the announcement of a bar mitzvah -- for Sloth Cohen.  Chunk's family really did adopt him!

20:48 there are mermaids in the videogame sequel 😆
