There are two mountain ranges in Ukraine: the Carpathians and the Crimean Mountains. Since we are temporarily unable to show you the Crimean Mountains, and we were recently in the Carpathians, our team found an alternative — an area that is also called mountains in Ukraine, although in fact it is only the heights of the Mizotske Plateau, stretching along the border of Podillia and Volhynia, Ternopil and Rivne regions — the Kremenets Mountains.
In 3 days, we covered more than 60 kilometers on foot through these mini-mountains, passing through probably the largest forest in the history of our travels, to show the places where the largest battle in the history of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army [UPA] once took place, and where the insurgents controlled the entire region at one time, not allowing either the Germans or the Soviets to enter, thus forming the so-called Antonivets Republic.
It will be interesting — and everything will be in our style: with laughter, sadness, history, and beautiful places.
