"Why are you so scared of me?"
- An old man, who wants to take you alone to the woods.

Its extra creepy he wanted to take her out in the woods so "no one would see them". Thats how people get murdered 😭

I hope Chris Hansen lives forever.

"I haven't been laid in like, 13 months..."
I haven't been laid in five years, but I have no desire to do what this creep did.

100% dude was going to abduct her. Taking someone to a “secondary location” is the signature move of a kidnapper.

Dane looking clean AF while Ken slowly turns into a werewolf

MENARDS MENTIONED!!! I hope this pred never gets his 11% rebate, EVER

... and in an alternate universe, Chris asks Jeffrey Epstein to take a seat, and all of his co-conspirarors.

So I'm from this area, and, a few things:

1. In the decoy house's neighborhood, it would not be weird to see tarps hanging. It's very low income and has issues with drugs and abandoned buildings.
2. The area is very rural and it's not weird to drive out into the woods to do things. This is Michigan's upper peninsula; we're further north than a lot of the population of Canada.  The foam he's talking about is likely a foam pad you put inside a tent to provide cushioning. It's pretty common to always have camping gear on hand here.  It's so common to carry pocket knives, the courthouse has temporary lockers to toss them in and pick them back up on your way out. Survival kits are expected.
3. Being that the whole community knows each other, the guy wants to avoid the neighbors seeing his vehicle and talking or posting on local communities.  He knows the neighbors are gonna know his vehicle doesn't belong there and might possibly tell her parents the description with a time and date.
4. Giving out your number here IS like giving out your license; it's that small of a community.  The whole upper peninsula has ONE area code.
5. He's probably on edge about a set up because of the teen in our community who took his own life after being extorted for explicit photos.  He's possibly also using that as an unfortunate inspiration to try to guilt trip her into feeling that she'd be in trouble too.
6. Tom Soetaert knew he was done the second Chris walked out.  Again, even without the recent VERY public case of sextortion, and even without knowing who Hansen is, his reputation locally was instantly finished.
7. PR bonds are super common here.  The jail is small and always overcrowded.  But that fact is wrong.  Tom spent 2 days in jail before posting a $1000 bond, which he got back after meeting his bond conditions.
8. The absolute asshole and only felony judge in the county, Judge Griffin, who loves to be abnormally harsh on drug crimes, decided to be lenient and accepted a plea agreement for Tom to plead No Contest to CSA Activity -  Distributing/Promoting with all other charges dismissed Nolle Prosequi, resulting in him getting 330 days with those 2 days as time served, plus 5 years of probation, minor court costs incurred, and registering under SORA.

I’m a 23 year old girl but no normal person would go to the woods with someone they have never met before, that just screams “I will be on the news as missing.”

"oh just something I never told you about that I like to do"

That sentence alone is creepy AF

He seemed so annoyed about the camera crew coming out. As if he wasn't a POS that was trying to victimize a child. He should be happy they came out with cameras and not hatchets.

They caught a Thumb-Thumb from Spy Kids

If scammers only targeted pedos I wouldn't mind them at all

It always puts me off that they don’t ever seem to correct these men when they refer to their victims as women. These are not women, they are children

14 months is a suspiciously specific amount of time.

So HE'S too scared to walk into a house but can't understand HER walking out in the woods in the dark with a stranger

Uh huh.

Buttstuff survival kit was not on my bingo card for 2026.

when i saw the title “thumb predator” not gonna lie i thought it referred to big Ed. lol

dude...If ANYONE asks to "meet in the woods" you run the other way...nothing good happens in the woods
