The contrast between Bilewater's appearance and its score is what makes the area feel so tragic. The region absolutely is disgusting, but there's a sorrow that the music adds - it's almost a lamentation for what the region once was, what it could've been if not for the Citadel.

'The Mist' isn't just the theme of the Mists themselves, as it continues to play even when you reach the Exhaust Organ - and it keeps playing until you step into the console room at the Organ's heart, with the final note trailing off before Phantom slams the keys, pulls out the stops, and leaps into battle.

Fun fact: Phantom's theme is internally referred to as "phantom of the organ"

"I need like a 10 hour version of that theme" play bilewater then lol

Silksong (the song, Silksong) is actually the Title Screen song, Sister of the Void plays in the credits of the True Ending and Songclave plays for all other endings :)

red maiden is the hornet boss theme from the first game but this time YOU are the boss

1:59 Red Maiden
4:10 Bilewater
9:05 The Mist
10:44 Phantom
12:58 Cogwork Core
15:13 The Choir
17:20 Sister of the Void
19:42 Silksong

Something subtle I noticed, every character that has to do specifically with being a spider or related to spider silk, the music is a string ensemble. Only when they are spider-related characters

The Mist/Phantom and Soul Sanctum/Soul Master are my favourite themes of Silksong and Hollow Knight.

A little obvious that I love church organ.

You have probably the best reaction to the Mist and Phantom that I've seen. So much joy and wholesomeness.

i love the bilewater theme so much
its like one of the reasons why i don't mind going through the area

God the music in both of these games are just superb, Christopher Larkin is an absolute musical genius. And honestly the game may not be your cup of tea, but I HIGHLY recommend playing it (maybe your husband could help if needed?) Because it is SO worth it. What a beutiful game.

fun fact: Phantom also sings her own theme if you play the needolin during her fight :)

Silksong has become one of my favourite games, part of that is because of the amazing world building, and the music just really adds to that. Specifically Bilewater has absolutely beautiful music... even if I hate the area 😭

I feel like the soundtrack can't really do justice to the music, which sounds like an insane thing to say. But how the mist theme gets gradually louder and more elaborate as you get closer and closer to your goal (which turns out to be the organ playing the music!) feels really incredible. And then it goes even further when you find Phantom and the music briefly cuts out entirely before launching into their theme as a massive crescendo to the whole sequence. Bilewater and Cogwork core really capture the feel of their areas as well, but the dynamic nature of phantom's themes in particular are on a whole other level.

Spent the whole game stabbing baddies with a sword, buzzsaws, throwing them into pits, all that.

Nothing was more brutal than snapping that neck in the slab as Red Maiden plays.  In slow motion. One of the coolest moments in recent memory and without the context, it kinda loses a little of the hype but still probably MY favorite song in the game.

Their shells are ours
Our hatred is forever

Actually the track that plays in the credits is Songclave. Silksong plays in the main menu before you start the game.

Great to see more reactions out of you :D The list today is full of BANGERS!

4:27 Bilewater’s theme (bless you, by the way) is not showing you the disgusting present, but rather mourning its beautiful past.

Something fun about the phantom fight is they are constantly holding their mask to their face with one hand.

A random thought that occured to me is that the sister of the void implies that whether it happens out of a feeling of debt or sympathy no vessel was ever truly hollow.
