I Tried to Complete the FireRed Pokédex in 24 Hours (Switch)
___________________________________________________________________________

Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are finally compatible with Pokémon HOME, with a brand-new Pokédex completion task rewarding players with a special Celebi in a Cherish Ball!

I've completed every Pokémon HOME Pokédex challenge so far, so there was no way I was going to miss this one. The only problem? My current FireRed save is part of a shiny-only playthrough that's nowhere near finished...

So I started again from scratch to see just how quickly I could complete the entire Kanto Pokédex — and whether I could register all 150 Pokémon in around 24 hours of game time!

Using both Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, I played through both games simultaneously to collect every version exclusive, evolution, trade Pokémon, fossil and Legendary needed to complete the Pokédex.

Along the way there were some incredibly lucky encounters, four HOURS spent in the Safari Zone, two games running at once to catch Articuno and Zapdos, plenty of grinding and a race against the clock to get those final Pokédex entries.

How long does it actually take to complete the entire Pokémon FireRed Pokédex from a brand-new save?

Let's find out!

This is probably most effort for one Celebi i'll ever do!! Hope you enjoy the journey of this one.

Celebi is so iconic, I love it. The concept of Time Travel has always fascinated me! Also, love the content, Lee. 😃👍🏻

In Leaf Green Porygon only costs 6500 Coins. Way easier to get.

@Reaper0514 2 days ago

24 hours by yourself is a pretty substantial undertaking. You still did well regardless

Awesome video as always and love the challenge, congrats on completing it! Inspired me to do the same playing with my son 😁

Completing the pokédex in 27 in-game hours is very impressive, and what an accomplishment!😎🔥

Really liked all the small story-bits or though we know them by heart, it's always funny to hear them being commentated on from the POV from a fellow trainer! 😁

15:05 is a good example - "the suspicious poster" - might seem like a simple thing to put in, but I do like it a lot, it gives such life and though this is a dex-challenge run, it's nice to have these story-part included.😊

11:32 - def. the highlight of this video! (I might be tini-tiny biased here)...😅🦋

Otherwise, overall a really good watch - 40+ minutes went by quickly! I'm definitely looking forward for more projects!😃

Amazing work!!! This is definitely a challenge I should've been doing during my playthrough, but alas I have about 70 pokemon to go! Not to mention, I knocked out a shiny Machop on accident while level grinding 😩

Congrats on completing the FRLG Pokedex.

I couldnt complete my FRLG pokedex but I managed to complete the Pokemon FRLG HOME Pokedex despite owning Fire Red only.

I used 3 profiles to be able to register all 3 starter lines and 2 fossil lines.

Then I used the HOME GTS to trade online then I used my various games, Violet, Sword and Legends Arceus to evolve the Pokemon.

Most notably Legends Arceus for allowing me to evolve the trade evolutions on my own using the Linking Cord item.

Im just glad that unlike the other games, we dont have to send in Pokemon to HOME to register it in the HOME Pokedex. It was so annoying to recapture unevolved Pokemon just to register it to HOME Pokedex.

Home just register your pokedex progress. It shouldve been like that from the very beginning.

I kinda forgot about the update to get the Celebi even though I need one for my living dex. I’m too busy shiny hunting legends for Champions for whenever they come to the format lol. I’ll definitely get this Celebi one day soon.

I hope luck was good.

I'm close to completing my living dex in both games have a few version exclusives and trade evolutions plus ho-oh/beast,deoxys,and the unknown set

@TrevorDog-fs6tr 2 days ago

Great video, though i think its cheating a bit catching non version exclusives (like Zapdos) on leaf green and trading them over to Red. Surely Leaf Green should just be to catch the first stage evolutions of version exclusives, the starters, the fossil, the hitmon, the extra eevee and trade evo’s?

@DA_4289 2 days ago

Aside from the trade evolutions, i noticed you do not have to trade over pokemon into one profile/save. Just have them available on any profile you have and load the game data from Home's "GBA games". Just need to view the boxes on the profile with the missing pokemon no need to transfer to home/trade between profiles.

I'm not sure if this is a bug tho.

I was working on a living dex and had the Venusaur line on a different save/profile but Home registered them anyway on my main profile just by viewing the boxes on that profile.
