That moment of heartbreak in Jacob's face when he thinks his little robot guy that he's been playing as for the entire game was truly dead and gone, and then his absolute joy at seeing it back.

They did the impossible twice, 1 they made product placement actually wholesome, 2 they made us care enough to be sad when a literal blank slate robot character was potentially killed off.

Astrobot, the best product placement people paid for since the Lego Movie.

13:34 the chainsaw was actually INVENTED for surgery before someone modified it for cutting wood. (It was later determined to be impractical for surgery but still)

"Product placement with heart" is actually a very good way to describe this game. It's so genuine in everything it does. This game deserves the flowers it's gotten. It seems to be waking Sony tf up too, so major bonus points.

All I'm saying is that Astrobot was ready and willing to make that sacrifice.
He let go not knowing he was gonna live.

Took them 10+ years to realize that making Mario Galaxy 3 on nintendos behalf would be like printing money

Astro Bot is a lot like pizza…

because I really love pizza

The fact that like 80% of this video is just Jacob being at a loss for words and just kind of rambling with a smile on his face shows that this is indeed a great game.

Genuinely I don’t think I’ve ever seen Alpharad so devastated as he was at 46:36, little guy enjoyer when the little guy game is sad

Fun fact, spyros appearance is also a reference to skylanders. when he pops up theres a text box saying "spotted in the skylands"

This game is like if Balan Wonderworld was actually as good as the devs said it was

I think that what makes Astro-Boy so special was that it doesn’t just pick and choose who to bring out. Like yeah the heavy hitters like Kratos and Aloy are behind the bosses but they have every character from every game, no discrimination. It’s for the love of the series and all the games that have come before, popular or not

They EXTREMELY got me because I did not collect every single bot before doing the ending (I had like 2 lost X void bots left) and I 100% thought that Astro died because I didn't have every bot and I'd have to redo the ENTIRE ending to get a "good" ending 😂

But wait! There's more! Firstly, if you go back to Astro's Playroom and beat the T. Rex boss, there are 4 other bots to find in the Playroom. Finding them will unlock them in the main game. There are also 2 free DLCs, namely the Speed Run Challenges, where you have to go through 5 specific levels as fast as possible to save 2 bots each, and the Christmas level, which is just a fun time.

Alternate title: Little guy lover plays the Little guys game

Lol didn't realize the second meaning until I read replies

"no way it's fucken Knack" might be my new favorate Alpharad quote

That little fakeout death fully got me—

There's a big difference between corporate cash-grab and corporate passion product
Astro Bot is the Lego Movie of video games

Astro's Playroom was a tech demo, and lemme tell you, the tech was amazing and the demo was one of the cutest dang things celebrating the Playstation's history.  It's free to all PS5s, play it now if you can.
