Rambo Van Schwarzenegger !!!! I am soooo keeping that.

Wow this is beautiful. It's on par with what SNK did with Metal Slug back in the day.

If Tengo Project did Shatterhand / Tokkyuu Shirei Solbrain next, my childhood would be complete.

Please Capcom, pay Tango project to do a new Megaman ...

It’s funny you posted this today, because with the random mini Nintendo direct happening in a few hours, one of the first things in my head was “Are we gonna see more from Tengo Project?”

This is master class in old school game design, graphics and gameplay. Really hope they will go on with projects like this. So far tengo has never disappointed, this is their best work, even better than ninja warriors.

Seeing this makes me want a Front Mission: Gun Hazard Tengo Project remake. That would literally be the dream.

The High score shop is a insanely great idea. Its little things like that we should be seeing more of.

So happy you give this game its credit. I was just playing it now, been playing since it came out. LOVED the original back in the day. Following TENGO Project for sure wherever they may go.

This has been one of my favorite remakes recently, I've beaten it like 4-5 times.
So many more mechanics, but the game doesn't lose its identity.

I preordered this months before it came out and it did not disappoint.  It has that hard to nail difficulty where a level feels unfair and borderline impossible then you get a little further and a little further then it seems very doable.  It's beatable even for non-pros and was great all the way through.  And the Switch version is very solid, no issues with it at all.

Fantastic review as always! If anyone is a fan of any 8/16-bit console games with an action-arcade approach I'd thoroughly recommend every one of Tengo Project's recent remakes. Every single one is extremely well done, and absolutely worth playing.

These guys are the best, I have a physical copy of all 4 games, nice to see reviews on more recent titles, the indie scene is like a renaissance of SNES inspired games

Looks like a Neo Geo game.

They knocked this shit out of the park

Awesome recommendation. Thank you.

The original was one of those extremely underrated titles back in the day, one so many of us were familiar with growing up but wasn't getting huge amounts of attention but was universally agreed to be a solid title.  Honestly forgot this remake came out despite being curious about it given the studios track record.  Immediately wishlisted it and will probably pick it up at some point.  Hell I still have my unopened copy of Pocky and Rocky to play so that'll tide me over.

Tengo Project is like Nippon Ichi, no matter what they make and whatever genre they tackle you know that you're going to get a quality game.

Arcus namedrop! Nice!

It’s so awesome when a reissue of games like these add more than just updated visuals.
