GenX has the best movies between the 80's and 90's there is no other Generation that can top those 2 decades.

@JuanCarlosUrrea-b6y 3 days ago

Can we please stop casting Boomers for the GenX generation.

In general I don't like 'Horror' as a genre because it is just not scary. Special effects limited the scope of what could be done with horror for a long time. The original Exorcist was actually scary and ahead of its time.... and I think American Werewolf in London gets a nod for the leap forward in special effects and actually showing the monster fully on screen rather than dark cutaway scenes with no clear view of the monster.

Platoon (1986) and Full Metal Jacket (1987). Stone vs Kubric both good.

Comedy: Young Frankenstein has to be up there... maybe Don't Be a Menace...omg.. so funny!

For favorites of all time it is tough, but contenders areTennessee Williams plays >> screenplays The Night of the Iguana and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (in that order) and the original The Color Purple with Oprah and Whoopi (even though I don't like Oprah– waited on her many times too and not so nice off camera)

15:50 I think that’s the most disgusting take I’ve ever heard in one of these videos 😭😂 There is absolutely NO better millennial horror movie than Scream

@bluerayseries 13 days ago

These people need to realize Boomers & Gen X. Are totally different years.

The best science fiction movie is back to the future, the best superhero movie is Batman 1989, the best horror movies are from the 80's, the best war movie is a tide between saving private ryan and platoon, the best comedy are in the 80's can't name them all, so gen x wins, I'm a millennial

@Xpu1se-13 1 month ago

Gen Z is 1997 to 2012

@Calthaza 1 month ago

You should let the participants actually watch the movies, so they can actually rate them. I love these videos tho!

@deshon739 2 months ago

The baby boomers of course won they pretty much know all the songs

@Selena-ei8cx 2 months ago (edited)

I think the 80s had the best movies. I love watching movies made before 2000s. Too many remakes anymore, I prefer the OGs. Also watching movies that are more than trilogies and reach up to, 8, 9, etc. get old

@h8r4life 2 months ago (edited)

Better to just go by decades. Crediting generational eras for movies doesn't make much sense because a lot of the movies in a specific era stars actors and are made by directors, writers, etc from totally different generations.
Tropic of Thunder is gen Z era but all the stars are either tail end boomer or first wave gen X. Shawshank (well, Pulp , Gump too) is gen X era but none of the stars are gen X(, etc(edit....Uma Thurmanis gen X).

@SEANZIE88 2 months ago

should have been king instead of fellowship in my opinion for the fantasy genre

@ЯК440 2 months ago (edited)

ugh, you did it again with Dune, lmao
why not call Star Wars Gen Z too lol

@ЯК440 2 months ago (edited)

yo you picked IT for Gen Z? a Gen X remake? not sure that makes sense
I think The Babadook is probably the one for Gen Z
I lean Millennial but I think Gen X had the best horror movies... Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers...
and 10,000,000 campy low budget projects including The Thing, The Stuff, and The Fly, lol

@Willdj86 2 months ago (edited)

This dude picked the wrong movies, best horror movie from the Boomer/Gen X is the Exorcist hands down and that destroys Halloween and IT.

And Tropic Thunder is not the best Millennial comedy, totally overlooking Jim Carrey movies or even Wayne's World which was more culturally iconic than Tropic Thunder.

Best Millennial horror has to be Silence of the Lambs.
