Collecting pieces of your child has to be the WORST thing on this planet 💔

Lucie Berlin passed away so unimaginably young and under such terrible circumstances. Even though she and her family are long gone, thanks to BC and his respectful telling of her story, we know her name and remember her.

Only 15 years for abducting her, raping and murdering her? He was a monster and should have served life!

The sad part about this is things have not changed

Justice really wasn't served in this case it disgusts me how someone could ever harm a child

That poor little girl Lucie Berlin.

She’s just a child. It’s truly heartbreaking.

I like the snapshot of history and economy during the era of the story. I learn something every time I listen to you. Thank you.

I was surprised at the lightness of Berger's sentence considering he robbed Lucie of her entire lifetime and her family of their time with her. I knew of slums in England in that era, did not know Berlin was the same. Thankfully, the police service seem to have been well staffed and equipped with very modern technology for the time making it possible to identify Lucie's killer. I learned a lot in this episode thanks to your exhaustive research, Brief Case. Thank you!

I always feel particularly sad when the victim is a child. The investigation seemed very thorough considering the limitations of what was available at the time. I am surprised that the jury returned a verdict of manslaughter rather than murder but the defence must have raised enough doubt to make them very cautious. I don’t doubt that the right man was convicted but the sentence seems very short considering the enormity of the crime.

It's my pleasure to listen to another video, but upon seeing this little girl's picture, I am terribly torn apart.
Such a tragedy, truly destroyed the family's life, and now echoes down there the ages. Many years later, my heart aches for these poor souls.
Deepest, deepest sympathies.
Rest 😢😢🙏🙏

Very sad case, how this guy got a "manslaughter" verdict is astounding, what in hecks name made them reach that verdict when this dear child is dead AND dismembered!
Well done on this as usual, great illustrations and great police and forensic work especially for the time. RIP Lucie.
