I don't know if you can tell but I'm really loving the castlecore trend this year...

The thrifting and DIY gods blessed me with this project, I still can't believe half of what I found! I love our new Medieval Bedroom so much!!! (Not that that's stopped my from thinking abut the rest of my house 👀)

I often forget how many things you can do in life if you just feel like it

I'd do a starry night sky on the ceiling, and a wrought iron chandelier (you could pick it up second hand, it was a popular look in the 1970s.)

A tiny bit of dry brushed gold would really make your beautiful sculpting on those doors stand out! They look great right now, but kind of get lost in the black. Amazing job all round!

Hey as someone who sells spray paint where I work, don’t feel bad about not knowing about the safety ring. I can’t tell you the number of people who come to return a “defective” can and then watch in embarrassment as I pop off the cap and pull the ring out. It’s why I always mention the ring unless someone is straight up a muralist and buys spray paint all the time.

Wait.... Castlecore is real? I so want to do my house like this. So glad I found this channel.

Hello from the USA! My husband and I are wild fans of Renaissance Festivals. We've decorated our whole house in "castle core", yes, even the bathrooms. Might I suggest you recover your padded fabric headboard with velvet, and put your initials in script upon them, just like royalty used to do! I love your eye for detail, and you have a new subscriber!

Strangely enough I used to have a red bedroom and a black ceiling. I had curtains around my bed and I thought it was so incredibly cozy. My mom hated it but always let us do what we wanted to our space. This was in the early 90s so a “core” wasn’t really a thing, but it was definitely very castle core, just before it’s time

Celestial ceiling is definitely VERY medieval. However, you’re missing a MANDATORY part of Medieval existence… a fireplace. No medieval sleeping chamber would have been without a fireplace (if you were above the middling sort, obviously). Not to mention, you gonna do something about a four poster bed? Because they needed it to help keep the bugs away from them in the summer.

YOU HAVE TOVE JANSSON'S FRESCO ABOVE YOUR BED! 😭 I'm losing my mind because I barely see her work (besides Moomins) outside Finland. I'm so happy!

(I know you tested the mod podge trick on her Family painting in the previous home reno video, but I thought that was just a coincidence)

Oooh, now you need a four poster bed! Bet you could pick one up second hand. Looks beautiful.

I've been watching interior design videos cause I need to do something to make my room better and now I'm realising why I can't find anything that speaks to me. Rearranging the furniture isn't enough, I need a full on medieval makeover 😭

This looks so gorgeous, your creativity never fails to inspire ❤

If you lengthen the curtains on the windo section so that they almost touch the wall and adjust the rail to be a few imches higher than the original setting, it will add drama and give a more regal vibe

Remove the switch/receptacle covers, then cover the switches/receptacles with painters tape instead of trying to paint around the switch plates. Also cover your bed with drop cloth, plastic, and old blanket, etc. literally anything to avoid debris falling on it.

you forget that the colors were much brighter during middle ages, this dark portraits and brownish or bordeaux tapestries were of vibrant colors when fabricated. Colors became this dull with centuries and pigments darkened and yellowed.. but you are such a genius to do this project!! I admire you from all my heart!!

You could always reupholster the headboard in a textile that matches the curtains or tapestry too! Super cute all the way around though!

I would replace the light with a chandelier. Room looks awesome 😎

Absolutely agree with the comment on the starry night ceiling, maybe an almost black blue shade or just black and some gold stars or something other celestial

@kathrynmcnerney6490 1 year ago

I think painting the ceiling would elevate it even more. I absolutely adore what you have done!

The door arch sculptures are so gorgeous! I don't know what you were talking about, saying you aren't good at sculpting. They look fantastic!

this is kinda crazy buttt instead of painting the ceiling you can get the peel and stick wallpaper as a mural and have like a fresco ceiling that'd be super castle core
