I didn't expect Guangzhou to be this beautiful. 🇨🇳
For this China travel vlog, I'm taking you on a day trip from Shenzhen to Guangzhou to explore a city that I think deserves much more attention.
Guangzhou isn't talked about nearly as much online as some of China's other major cities, and even researching the city was surprisingly difficult compared to places like Beijing, Shanghai or Shenzhen. But after spending a day exploring Guangzhou, I think that Guangzhou is definitely underrated!
I take the first-class high-speed train from Shenzhen to Guangzhou, then use the metro to explore three very different sides of the city.
We start in Yongqingfang, a beautifully preserved historical area filled with traditional architecture, cafés, local shops and people enjoying photoshoots. I also discover Bruce Lee's ancestral residence before stopping for coffee and continuing our exploration.
Then we head to Dongshankou and Miaoqian West Street, an area known for its beautiful architecture, independent boutiques, cafés and trendy local lifestyle.
Finally, we explore Beijing Road, one of Guangzhou's most famous walking streets before ending the day with beautiful city views and the Canton Tower.
