In 1988,the Lakers had a chance to go for a back to back nba championship, just became the first team since 1969 to repeat as champs against the Detroit Pistons, and the Lakers hadn't done it yet
🤔 This series is one of the few instances where the best team in the series did not win the series because of an injury and officiating. But makes no mistake I grew up in Texas and really didn't have a favorite during this series and I remember when the series was over knowing that the Pistons were actually the better team.
At the start of this video, you can notice the Laker fans quiet reactions, they were disappointed that the Celtics weren't there, they were hoping for another Celtic matchup, if Boston was there it would've been loud and Boston sucks chants.
Lol some of you love Larry bird so much, y'all hate to recognize how physical Boston was, and sometimes played dirty just like everybody else. Smh Robert Parrish sucker punched laimbeer.
This supposed to be the most physical era😂? What a joke! JJ Reddick was right. The 80s hype is more about nostalgia than facts. Don’t get me wrong, these guys can play but there is literally no significant difference in physicality and in the way fouls are called. TBH, some of these calls are worse than today😂!
