It’s incredible the man you’ve become spanian. I hope your inspire the young in Australia to seek culture and wisdom. I never really knew how important traveling was until recently. I still haven’t been out the country my whole life but watching your videos truly motivates me. Thank you , bless you and your family ❤

Wallaces place of birth was either Elerslie in Ayrshire or Elderslie of Paisley. Because both were part of the same area essentially at the time (Lanark was the capital of this area which is why he moved here) and are spelled so similarly they are still unsure. Most tend to lean with Elderslie in Paisley where there is a monument to commemorate where they think his family dwelling would have stood if so. Not sure if you’ve left but would recommend. Wallaces actions sparked the uprising of the lowlands but the highlands had already began to rebel under another great hero but often forgotten Andrew De Murray. Murray and Wallace joined forces & each led a section of the army at Stirling. Murray would have been given guardianship of Scotland like Wallace had he survived but he died from wounds sustained after. If you need any help or information to assist your travels please give me a shout I’d be happy to help. I’m a historian on Scotland from the pre Roman occupation of Britain through the dark ages & medieval ages. Great to see someone so passionate about our history. I wish more were like you Spanian.

Hello I was born and brought up in Lanark , I lived in Castlebank house the house in the video
The local story about Wallace
The river Clyde you went to is great for fishing was in Wallaces time
Wallace was married with 2 kids under 5 years old , living in the house you videod
He was fishing on the Clyde he caught so many fish , he was on his way home , he had to pass the castle on his way ...
There was a group of English soldiers standing outside the Fort off duty messing about .Wallace was passing , a soldier told Wallace to hand over the fish " soldiers were not on a good diet " Wallace refused a fight started Wallace killed the soldier and wounded others . Wallace was 6'5" height and strong
He ran home to get his wife and kids out of their  house, but the soldiers arrived at his house as you know the house was 300 yards , from the Fort
Wallace escaped but his wife and kids were not lucky , in them days the houses had traw roofs
The soldiers collected bales of hay and stacked them around the house and set it alight burning his wife and kids to death , Wallace wife was called Marion Braidwood
If you remember the story of  Robin Hood , his wife was maid Marion Robin Hood was taken from Wallace story ..
If you went to the top of Lanark their is a graveyard and a church is in the middle , St Kentigers they say Wallace was married in that church its still standing ,

Brother lot of men don't show there emotions so proud of ya showing your emotions ❤

As a Scotsman, born in Scotland. But when I was 2 years old I grew up and lived in Australia for 40 years. Been back here for 5 and half years now. Much appreciated this video Spanian. 🔥💪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇺😎

My grandmother came to Australia on a boat as orphan from Scotland. Really appreciate this vlog, miss you Nan

As a proud Scotsman I loved your telling of this part of our history.

So as a passionate Scotsman, who lives in Scotland and loves Scotland…I cried with a big smile on my face seeing how passionate you are about my(our)history…I love your videos of Thailand etc etc but this video and your kircody video on your main channel made my day each time I seen your upload-it’s made me like you even more(I have tears in my eyes and a smile as I write this) ps please ignore these English people saying this and that to discredit him ❤

What the world needs now more than ever, as the great William Wallace said: FREEDOM!!!!

Ment to say the school at lanark is the oldest grammar school in Europe established 1183 which i attended as a young boy Wallace will live for ever in all scots hearts always remembered never forgotten

My daughter said that big mural of Wallace looks like you. And I have to agree with her. Kind of uncanny 😂

Robert the Bruce and William Wallace are Heroes!
Thank you for this amazing tour.

haven't watched the movie in a very long time.. but today I'm gonna re-watch it. Mel is such a great actor.

I learnt more from this vlog than watching Braveheart. Just checked familysearch and William Wallace was my 23rd Great Grandfather, Robert the Bruce my 20th Great Grandfather. My own family fought the British in the American Revolution, today they are the strongest and most powerful nation in the world. Never back down.

Thank you Spanian, got my coffee it’s 7.37am here in the UK let ogg cuz

Love the fact that you're mostly Scottish, welcome home my man, love the video, keep the the good work - a fellow Scot x
