"Am I allowed to laugh right now?"  That's exactly the reason people request movies like this.

Watchin a bunch of young guys trying to comprehend 1970's satire alone is worth a thumbs up.

Lots of movies show that racism is bad, but Blazing Saddles shows that racism is stupid.

1:03:40 I've heard that Mel Brooks asked the cast and Crew if he had missed offending anyone and added the Irish joke after one of the crew mentioned that they hadn't made a joke about them yet.

My favorite story about this movie is that supposedly, Mel Brooks was told "too bad you can't make movies like that anymore." And his reply was "well we couldn't make it back then, but we did anyway!"

This is South Park before South Park.

To understand why Mel Brooks made BLAZING SADDLES you have to know something about Mel Brooks's background. Mel Brooks was a combat engineer during WW2. He witnessed the liberation of the concentration camps. He was horrified by the hatred it took to do such horrible things to people. He decided that the best way to fight such hatred was with comedy. The movie makes fun of bigotry.

FUN FACT: Mel Brooks wanted to cast Richard Pryor in Blazing Saddles as the main star, but Warner Bros. refused, so Brooks had Richard Pryor to co-wrote Blazing Saddles.

This is the most invested i have ever seen anyone reacting to a movie.
Nobody is ever ready for this movie the first time they watch it

"Excuse me while i whip this out"

Homeboy literally fell on the floor 😂😂😂

"Excuse me while I whip this out." has been my favorite funny line in a movie for over 30 years.

I heard the white foreman at the beginning got upset with his dialog, so Cleavon told him that he knew it was the character and not him personally.

I am 100% sure that Mel Brooks would be delighted by this reaction. 😂😂😂😂😂

"He said the sheriff is near!" is probably my favorite joke of the entire movie.

“We gotta go back and get a shitload of dimes!!” One of my favorite quotes.

44:54 "I want my doors back"
LMFAO

"Let's see if we get offended by anything in this movie." I laughed hysterically at this line. 😆30 seconds after the opening credits... 😆

5:08 pausing right before the actual punchline to critique the punchline is a touch of irony..

The Waco Kid was just in the drunk tank sleeping it off, not an actual prisoner.

"I don't even think WE can say it" LoL im in tears.
