A mega monopoly ruins SGC. Shocking

I can't help but to feel like PSA is purposly slowing things down for market manipulation. This slowdown started when they started buying and selling cards. Percieved scarcity is a huge factor in the marketplace and PSA has alot of pull. I am also benifiting from the spike although it really irks me that this has become the norm. Love the episode!

I have been submitting to SGC for years and I am now done with them. They had the best run operation of all the slabbing companies before the Collectors Universe takeover. I loved the $15 fee with 5-10 day turnaround time along with the best Customer Service in the Industry. Now $50 with around 75 day turnaround with subpar Customer Service. Collectors Universe and PSA are downright evil to destroy this company that is loved by Vintage Sport cards collectors.

It is rather obvious they are trying to control the market price; competition does not exist with monopolies.

My favorite interview video I have seen you have. Loved it! Have A Fantastic Weekend, Brother!

After PSA suspended Value grading, the next lowest level was the $75 level. Maybe that price level is simply too much for the vast majority of collector's which has resulted in a collapse of new submissions. Lowering that price hopefully brings back submission levels that PSA is hoping for. That's my theory and sticking with it!

The Standard tier is exactly the same as the old Value Max tier, with worse turnaround times ($59.99, $1,000 max declared value)

Looks like PSA in Frankfurt opens its doors for grading submissions on Sep 15th..No idea what their pricing/tier levels will be but presumably in line with the US..with 30% of PSA USAs submissions coming from overseas (PSAs figure) presumably the European office's opening will speed things up in the US, once they've cleared some more of their backlog..We'll have to wait and see but I'm not holding my breath

Have an awesome time at the northeast Card expo. My plan is to get there on Sunday. Early admission. Great episode gentlemen. I always enjoy when great minds combine forces.

Not sure why nobody states the obvious. The overwhelming majority of the increased submissions are tcg
Just separate submissions and have tcg separate and impose the fees on the segment driving bulk submissions
That way sports cards are not penalized for the tcg craze
Just my two cents but the YouTubers like yourselves need to beat this drum more
Tcg vs all the rest

Billy: That was just so low, so low…

Psa trying to compartmentalize sgc (ie price increase). The reason for psa price change with ongoing backlog is hopefully due to fear of losing business to cgc.

There is no headway because sellers continue to see the premium buyers pay for PSA grades cards.

Guys!!! PSA is lying!!! There creating the demand on there own!! They just pumped the hobby/ business for a lot more money!!!

You are not missing much with merch, i find it cringy to wear an influencers merch.

Fun episode . I think the price at $59.99 is an indicator it will not ever be back at $20 ish range . They’re testing waters on how many people will grade at that price point 🤷‍♂️

My brother in law bought a digital pack for 50 bucks - the card was in the 20 dollar range.
Just imagine, the next pack would need to be 75+ valued card just to be even.
It makes no sense (& cents) to me.

I have a superduper novel idea. Stop grading your cards and save some money???

On the sale side you increase turnover by a factor of four at least, and you don’t have to deal with all the grading mambo jumbo…. No more nonsense!

If you’re collecting good news, you still have the exact same card and it’s still in a piece of plastic of your choice for protection…. You just don’t have to send it to one of these grading companies to tell you how valuable it is…..

Only problem is most people in the hobby don’t even understand what the grades mean if you’re doing raw so they’re going to have to be reeducated…..?

Have fun at the show with Theo!

Chris, I think you need to sell T-shirts that say eat your vegetables!

I always cut the corner of my penny sleeves open.  So i wont ding a corner when inserting the card...  if you interview another grader...  could you ask them if they like/respect this...  i have a very high gem rate over the years.. and i wonder if this is part of the reason..  does it show the grader im smart...and looking closely at details...   not to mention it makes their job a tiny bit easier

***ACCURACY is Key! THE FINE PRINT
-The NEW $60 tier goes to the BACK of the line.  Value tier backlog will be cleared BEFORE the clock for this "new" tier begins.
So cards at this level likely will come back in 18 to 24 months from this tier
