Give me that old time religion,
It's good enough for me.
Today the selection is in tens of thousands
Likely for some;
It was good for our mothers,
It's good enough for me.
Makes me think of the parable of the tares among the wheat
And then, the body of Christ, the church, exists worldwide
Had Joshua been a Calvinist, he would have needed to speak at all. According to Calvinism no preaching can make any difference to who is chosen to be saved, and who is left with a deficient call. not an effectual one, and therefore doomed from, according to Calvinism, the beginning of time.
In this message, as many others if not all, Spurgeon calls out to people who can make a real choice for themselves upon which their eternal destiny depends.
