Oh yeah, he should have listed the pre turbo GL450. Wife drives one that is currently at 260k miles. I did dump the air ride and have springs/struts at all four corners. It is one of the best vehicles I've ever owned.
I should have mentioned in prior post that, in my opinion, the 4matic in the E class and GLK application will not hold up to 300k miles. I have seen a front driveshaft on one come apart at 160k. The 4matic in the GL/GLS is a better design and will go the distance, again, my opinion. The issue with the one in the E and GLK is it has universal bearings that you can not service/lube and they will eventually fail.
Lunar Blue/Sand interior 2012 C250 coupe- 147,000 miles and still running like a champ- new oil every 5000mile (LiquiMoly products only), Trans service every 40,000, Rear differential fluid service every 60,000, belts and tensioners checked every 40,000 and changed if needed. All new Brake fluid every 100,000 Plugs and wires every 60,000miles. Had the steer lock permanently solved with an electrical over ride ($750 and worth every dollar!), maintenance yearly, $1000 max depending on the miles driven. 27mpg in town/35mpg Hwy /31 total average consistently, and just to see,..., top speed has been 130mph effortlessly at just over 6000 RPM 1.8ltr/turbo/7 speed Trans. But I drive this lil'monster like my age, 70-80 MPH MAX and the fun is its handling, like a snake, 9 with a 100% total suspension replacement just this month), with Cooper Cobra Instinct as a staggered set. - yah I LOVE MY Baby Benz! (Too much information? NEVER too much info when you are looking for a great car- and Mercedes has them, both sides of the coin, just like every other brand.)
12:57 the closer comparison would be a W211 E350 and an E60 530i. Both incredibly reliable, but the E60’s N52 engine is as close to flawless as you can get, while the E350 had the M272 balance shaft issue. I own an E60 530i (and will buy more in the future!) but would enjoy a W211 E350 as well. Actually the 211 I’d love most is an E500 wagon.😊
I got 2018 w213s e400 estate bought it with 30k 5 years ago got 140k on it no problems ever besides tires oil and flushes and any other maintenance like plugs car is still like brand new kept covers on seats and floors till it 100k now got a brand new car biggest wagon on market more space than 90 percent of suvs plus more powerful
I have glc350d 4matic amg 2018 , 52,000 miles . Running smooth. My next service is full engine , gearbox , diff , radiator and brake fluid flush . Full check of all rubber piping .
2011 GLK350 200,000km - owes me nothing. Normal maintenance except a fuel pump (my wife likes to run it till the fuel light comes on) and an alternator because the company who installed our 7pin tow bar and wired the power wire across the exhaust manifold and it shorted out the alternator. Neither were the GLK's fault IMO.
