I travelled there with my parents upon our visit to Ohrid, Macedonia, almost 30 year ago and was disgusted with its state of despair, negligence and filth. Now, I see a great improvement in infrastructure, modern buildings, shops and restaurants. Thanks for this video.
Absolutely love your walks and honestly, the pace is just fine, I like all the boutiques best instead of a mall because you have an opportunity to possibly barter or get a better bargain but I don't know. I especially liked what looked like Groucho Marx spray painted on the wall as you passed by one of the shops! and I agree about the screens! I wouldn't want a poor bird or bugs flying around in my place either
Pat, we made the move! I came first with the dog (what a shit show). Had an emergency er visit in Germany as I had an ulcerative colitis flare up 😂… and finally made it to Tirana 2 nights ago. My wife and kids come tomorrow. Hope to see you sometime man. Hope all is well. Keep the videos coming. 👍
Love your walking tours of Pogradec. As a retired gemologist/jeweler who managed a jewelry store, I was surprised to see "Rolex" watches in a window display. Certainly wouldn't be safe in the US! Smash and grab robbery looking for a place to happen here!
Good video. What is the household trash and recycling collection procedure around Albania? Also, being an older guy, I would need the facilities while I'm out. Whats the availability of public restrooms? Thanks for showing us around. I look forward to visiting Albania. Some of the smaller areas reminds me of better times where I live.
Hi, Patrick, I followed your video s getting a little impression on city of Pogradec. It looks fine although a few street beggers around. It is real Albania actually, it’s good for us to see. My question is why did you buy a property there like middle of nowhere to a foreigner in stead of buying it in Tirana or even seaside Durresi closed to capital city with more expats ? Is it about property price or transaction safety? Thanks
Hi Pat, just started following your journey and by far your videos are the most informative about living in Albania! What is your experience with the medical service in Pogradec? Would you have to travel to Tirane for medical treatment? Thanks for sharing!
I appreciate your morning walk videos. And you may look ridiculous to others but it makes for better cinematography. Any chance you could finish or start each episode with a map of your travel? Maybe draw your route with a Sharpie? Also, I’ve been wondering if you have a vehicle or do you rely solely on public transportation?
