This commute was rough. I can’t even imagine doing it in the rain. I had no idea y’all go through this every day, commuting to and from home. May y’all always be protected and kept safe along the way. 🙏🏼

With all due respect I give you credit to you for your patience , keen attention and stamina! One hazard to add to your list that you didn't really go into---the danger of breathing in all the exhaust and polluted air all around you. I would have to say a big NO to could I or most folks survive such a commute. Maybe a motorcycle would be a little less stressful, but on any bike or motorcycle a person can be extra vulnerable to the hazards around ,we all know. In the US motorists don't always respect or even acknowledge pedestrians, bikers and cyclists. I'm not sure how that situation is there. It's all relative and part of the life there, but I was very worried about you as you rode along! All the more after a hard day at work! Please stay safe, and may God look out and bless you always!

Biggest fear while biking in Manila: stumbling on a pothole, falling onto the side of the road, and getting flattened by an incoming truck 💀

Thank you for sharing this to the world. This gives a clear picture of how dangerous Manila roads can be for cyclists. Please keep safe and I wish your channel more success.

You seem to be a calm and collected guy Onad. Very good advice on road manners.
Although knowing Philippine traffic in general does not really lend to being calm, instead chaotic.

I am biting my nails watching riders just weaving around you 🫣.
Lost my brother in a motorcycle accident in 2004.
The pain and trauma of losing him almost unbearable.

When I am driving and hear a motorcycle or see a bike rider,
I break in sweat and stay away from them as much as possible.
Driving in the Philippines is a no no for me 😊.

Just be careful out there Onad 🙏.

I used to commute by bike every day to work. It was dangerous when traffic was heavy. I heard a lot of beeping horns and angry motorists traveling past me. When the weather was bad it was a nightmare. I’d be wet and dirty from the rain when I arrived to start my day. There were also train tracks I had to cross. If there was a train going by, I had to wait. So I had to leave early to allow time if a train comes. I had no choice. I had to work and my bike was all I had.

Welcome to 'our' tribe! 👍
Been there. Done that.
Bike commute to / from work for 20 yrs. 36 kms daily roundtrip 5x per week on a
rotating three-shift duty.
Rain or shine until my last
day of duty at the end of
2022. Now happily retired
with lots of time for long
rides. STAY SAFE OUT THERE.
😊🖖

The vids are excellent. Nobody's making vids like these. They're very comforting to me in a nostalgic way, reminding me of life going on around me when I was a kid living in Makati. The years I lived there as a kid were the happiest years of my life. I moved away in 1988.

Oh, there's no way I'd ride a bicycle on major NCR roads. C5, EDSA. NO for me.

Please cook adobong pusit next. Don't forget to add the Sprite or 7up. I forget which I've seen used to cook it from so many years ago.

Traffic is brutal in the Philippines, especially in Manila. Stay safe ❤

Thank you so much for this video. I just start biking in Manila and have already experienced dangerous conditions. The worst are not the cars or jeepneys. The worst are the motorcycles which surf the traffic without any respect for the bicycle riders and lanes

Thank you for sharing this, I am also a bike commuter (from Las Pinas to BGC) and I can really relate to this video. And yes I would still continue to commute via bicycle considering the gas prices and the time wasted on traffic plus the health benefits.
