The opening right under the grating is pretty big and its hard to tell on a computer screen but the actual rectangular shaft doesn't appear that big. They kept it pretty uniform all the way down but how would they even have room to swing a pickaxe to bust up that rock? Looks like there wouldn't be enough room for a good swing on a full handle and I cant imagine using a short handle going that deep. Crazy stuff!

Use a downrigger like the ones on fishing boats.

San Manuel, AZ was the home to Magma Copper and letter Australian company BHP, Broken Hill Propietary. BHP bought Magma and closed the mine. Word from several sources said that there were more railroad tracks underground than there are subway tracks in NYC. I had a friend get killed when a huge rock weighing several tons crushed him during a detonation.

How did they even dig that shaft?

This kinda looks like where that guy went missing. Something strangeness in the high desert. Maybe I'm wrong and it is just similar.

Awesome footage.

love your content . I use plywood to make a platform

Could  you use a child size fishing rod to lower then reel up faster and easier on your hands?😊

I'd like to bring out my 360 camera for this hole. Where is this place at?

He didn't "drop" the camera down the shaft he lowered the camera down the shaft.

Get yourself a ice fishing rod and real you wont regret it.

This is what it sounds like dropping a rock down a mineshaft to give you an idea of how dangerous it is...then plays music over the top. 🤣

MY GAWD WHO DUG THAT ?
