I rented a 2025 Mazda Roadster NR-A (6MT) for half a day and drove it for approximately 200km to conduct a thorough review.
This review covers aspects that are difficult to discern in a short test drive, such as:
changes in handling due to tire warm-up,
the lack of engine power,
the underwhelming performance above 5000 rpm,
and the enjoyment and liberating feeling of driving with the top down,
and conversely, the noise stress in closed-top mode. I've compiled my impressions from a realistic, extended test drive.
While the Roadster is nimble and handles well, I've honestly discussed points that became apparent after driving it for half a day, such as its "on-rails-like handling" and how it's "slightly different from the fun of a rear-wheel-drive car that you enjoy throwing around."
I hope this will be helpful for those considering purchasing a Roadster or those who want to learn more about the NR-A's character.
