Joe Fixit in this era would be dope

This is one of the best written versions of the character; it’s a shame the show is seemingly going in a different direction.

They did a great job with this comic - I'm from NYC and the summer of fire where thousands of people lost their homes to landlords paying local gangs to torch their buildings for insurance was practically an epidemic when building values plummeted but insurance still paid out at the same rate in the contract

25:31 “Open and shut case, Johnson. Sprinkle a lil crack on him.” He couldn’t make the full reference, but it was caught. 😂

19:05 "It's not some crazed grandiose thing right? Where he goes through like, this great big montage of him learning how to use his powers. It's very grounded."

"He gets this vision of this giant spider that talks to him."

This is one of my favorite Spider-Man runs and is probably why I like watchmen

Vulture is looking a like the kind of surrealism that was brought up by german expressionism, specifically Max Shrek ❤

Honestly hoped the movie would have a Max Payne / Sin city vibe

Ah. They are referencing Smetly Butler and his book "War is a Racket" with the Great War reference.

Spider-Man Noir has been one of my favourite alternate versions of Spider-Man for a long time, before even the Spider-Verse comic event happened in 2014. Very interesting and darker version of the character. The problem is I think David Hine is the only person to truly understand him. Most of the subsequent series they’ve done including the most recent one by Erik Larsen have just been regular 616 Peter in the 30s setting. It’s lost what made Noir feel so special. I’m very excited for the Prime series but from the trailer it seems like they don’t understand the character at all. Still, if it’s somewhat enjoyable I’ll be satisfied.

Aunt may with the suicidal empathy. Yikes.

Interesting how Kraven's end mimics the old spider comic where Kraven emerges himself in spiders but emerges reborn, instead of being consumed. This was decades ago when Kraven wanted to overcome his disgrace in his own eyes about all his defeats by Spider-man.
