Grinding Steam Review Guesser On Hard Mode

I turned the Steam into a video game. Can you guess how successful a game is just by looking at its store page? This is my Chrome plugin "Review Guesser" where you have to guess the number of reviews of random games on Steam. I added a new game mode and open sourced it on GitHub for all of you to try.

I love this idea. I hope it can help us develop an intuition on making a good page and marketing collateral for steam. Thank you for sharing this.

The reason why Mafia 2 Definitive edition has "only" 25k reviews is because most people have the original Mafia 2 and don't care for the graphics update for 30€

Congratulations to the team that made 30XX !! the game made it to the switch and sold 100K units. The steam review numbers had me a little confused since the game is clearly high quality fun.

"I recommend if you want to release a Metroidvania go back to 2017, release it there. It's probably a good idea." Savage af :DDD

A great side effect of this game is that it forces you to look at Steam pages a little closer and discover games you wouldn't have played otherwise. Already added The Way to my wishlist thanks to this video!

Why is this more fun than my indie game 😭

I love Jonas' energy when choosing:
"hmm, haaaa, heeeehhh, maybe it's around this number perhaps"
Click
"YES! HUZZAH! I DEFINITELY GOT THAT RIGHT! I KNEW IT THE WHOLE TIME! ONLY A FOOL WOULD CHOOSE OTHERWISE! BOW TO THE CREATOR"

(with only slight exaggeration)

"Larger and more beautiful map than expected" that's a wild thing to write in a steam page description 😆

This is such a useful tool, thank you! I think another cool feature could be to select tags/genres to train your eye specifically for the type of game you're making (or intend to make) to see whether it's even viable or what the expected level of polish would be

I really love this concept. Maybe you should filter it to the last year or two. I'm not sure you're learning anything by guessing how many reviews a game from 5-10 years ago has.
