From all the places I've been to in Tokyo, I felt Hatagaya was the most chill residential area. Still my favourite.

My wife and I had the honor of spending an evening with Hiroshi. Wow, what a nigh! Best food and we went to the same bar that evening. It was one of the better experiences we have had when traveling. Such wonderful spots and people. Was a true honor to spend time with him and his friends in the bar.

Visited Japan last year. Phenomal country, people and food!!
If I could learn the language fast enough, I would move there without hesitation. This video, among others reveal the warmth and mutual respect among Japanese citizens. Love this.

the ticket thing is truly great for hygiene. i lost count of how many times i've seen people touch money then immediately handle food here in berlin...i guess it happens worldwide to some extent but it makes you appreciate when people operate with consideration in those areas.

Hatagaya is defenitly the place to be if you want a taste of Tokyo without all the busy streets and a more japanese vibe to it! My hotel was here when I first came to Japan and locals were so friendly and welcoming, the area is calm and feels safe and the food was out of this world. I have such fond memories of this location.
