She Read the Fortune, She Opened the Door: 3 Shadows Following the Young Woman | #DarkStories
In this episode, journalist and writer Mehtap Erel tells the dark story of our viewer Semanur, a story that has haunted her for years.
It all began when she was a child, with a black cat appearing in a closed room. Years later, when she started reading fortunes, shadows touching her shoulder at night, beings that spilled from dreams into reality, a child standing at her bedside, and terrifying experiences starting at three in the morning became a part of Semanur's life. What did these beings, who retreated when she prayed but didn't completely leave, want? Was Semanur truly experiencing a haunting, or had an unseen door already been opened without her knowledge?
And strangest of all… these events, which lasted for years, suddenly fell silent with the arrival of her cat, Şira. But was Şira just a cat?
Or was she the last protector who saw things Semanur couldn't see?
This week in Dark Stories, there's a chilling viewer story that begins and ends with a cat.
DARK STORIES – VIEWER INFORMATION TEXT
Some of the folk tales told in Dark Stories may seem exaggerated or illogical at first. However, these narratives are parts of a collective memory passed down through oral culture for centuries, with each narrator adding their own testimony and interpretation. In the past, people tried to express the disappearances they couldn't understand, the mysterious deaths, the natural phenomena they couldn't explain, and the fears they experienced through these stories. Over time, real events and legends intertwined. Dark Stories does not claim to be a documentary. What is told here bears the traces of a world where truth, belief, and legend are mixed together. We present these forgotten dark narratives as they are, leaving the interpretation to the viewer.
