Love the video, wonder if you can give me advice 2005 bonneville America with excessive freeplay at gear box output shaft, in gear engine off rock back wheel and a good chain link of movement in gearbox before resistance is felt kind regards Rob
My 2012 Thruxton did that chatter a couple of times. I then went with the TOR exhausts and new map and changed to 15W50 synthetic oil. The chatter went away never to be heard again! I'm guessing it was the oil...
Hi Johnny , my 2010 scrambler 900 makes this awful judder sound, where did you find the new 2015 clutch ๐ค I've been looking about also on ebay , can't see one. I love the bike but it's really annoying . Did the judder stay away. Cheers.
Hey mate! Thanks for your amazing videos! I just got a 2001 Bonnie and I'm having the same clutch chatter problem as you had so I'm very happy I found your YouTube channel! ;) I wanted to ask you something before I order a bunch of parts. What exactly did you have to change to finally fix it? Just the clutch basket assembly form the later model (2016?) Bonnie or did you have to change a couple other parts as well? Sorry if you explained it in the video and that I didn't get it, I'm pretty new to clutch work so I'm a little confused about the exact parts needed for the fix. Thanks again! Cheers, Regis.
Hi mate , you are talking about the safe start , but you better put it on so soon as possible because that is a design fault , the cast aluminium of the engine and the clutch cover that hold the two bush bearings of the little in between sprocket that is in contact with the starter bendix when you start the engine in place is to weak and can give way ,if that happens you will need a new engine block so you better put a safe start on asap!
I was most intrigued by this, particularly your comment about making the clutch pull lighter. My 2002 is not juddery, but it is grabby and a little heavy. Did you say changing the operating arm made it lighter? Triumph UK gave you all the Part Nos. to carry out this modification? Any assistance that you could give me would be much appreciated.
Very informative, instructive video mate. I've done a couple of clutches but never touched my own Bonnies'. Never had problems with the chatter you experienced, what would you consider to be a late model?. Mines is an 06 with 25k miles, can I expect trouble in the future?. Glad you're enjoying your recent custom built bike.
