It's interesting how the Handler notes that Nergigante's rampage through the Recess may in part be due to efforts to find and consume Xeno'jiiva, but nothing is brought up any interaction with Safi'jiiva. Looking into it, it seems likely that it's a commentary on realistic predatory behaviors, in which Nergigante is willing to put bets on killing a Jiiva fresh out of the cocoon, soft-skinned and clumsy, but won't dare mess with an adult that's had plenty of time to toughen up and refine its power, much like fish consuming the larvae of bobbit worms but not daring to approach the burrow of an adult.

We were beating up a newborn fetus dragon, God I love this game

Quick theory: Xeno wasn’t drawing in Zorra to enable its hatching, but as its first meal. Many species will store nutrients or food near their clutch of eggs to provide an immediate nutrition boost.

I wanna see Shara Ishvalda! It's really an interesting monster in my perspective, if we ommit his nightmare-inducing, never-blinking eyes XD

After looking at the etymology behind Xeno and Safi's names, the evolution from Xeno to Safi also makes sense.
Jiva - (from Hinduism-sanskrit) meaning a being infused with life force - since it was born out of the life force of other Elder Dragons.
Xeno - meaning strange or alien - especially since it's the weirdest monster we encounter in MHW.
Safi - (from arabic) meaning Pure. - it makes sense since Safi is the evolved, refined version of Xeno.

SO yeah.

Safi'jiiva effortlessly climbed to the top as my favorite monster of all time and I wish more people would appreciate the nuance behind its design rather than calling it a "generic red dragon".  I really hope they bring this big boy back in the future.

HES A
GENTLE
SIMPLE
SAILOR

I find it kinda funny how some people dont like how Safi is what a fully grown Xeno looks like.

I mean, do you look exactly the same as when you came out of the womb?

Admiral: I'll be back with help
Never comes back as Xeno stomps me out

Didn’t expect to be early on this Lore, can’t wait for Vaal Hazak Lore also if possible the big Skull in the Rotton Veil

The reason Nergigante able to take on others Elder Dragons is because his brute strength and fast regeneration and there's Safii'jiiva ; Fast regeneration, raw brute strength, able to turns bioenergy surrounding it as source of food and energy, a fire breathing attack that so strong its colour is blue and white (the highest level of heat temperature), agile and fast for its size. Best part he's not your typical "Blac Dragon" type. He's his own category ; The Red Dragon.

8:30 "here's a present for you"

now in all seriousness i think safi'jiiva should return in future games. honestly one of the coolest elder dragons i've seen along with nergigante

I would love to see Dalamadur. Such a gianormous beast, also how it ended up in the rotten vale and made the map itself.

Another candidate would be zorah. We know he came to the new world to die but where was he before?

TDS: this monster puts up a demanding and ferocious fight
Also TDS: beats MHW without taking damage

"The kind of fight you need a reliable team for." "Solo's it"

Thumbnail: "Step-safi what are you doing?"

Next lore: About the hunter who slayed 1000 Xeno'jiiva & 1000 Safi'jiiva.

Zorah: Kaboom?
Xeno: Yes Zorah, kaboom- what?
"the whole island explodes"

I love how well constructed the world of Monster Hunter is. I mean, everything has a precise and natural explaination, as such even a mighty red dragon capable of dropping a pure energy nuke is belivable in this world.
Btw it's kind of a shame that we didn't see a third Jiiva, a fully realized Black Dragon. I don't know why but Safi still feels "incomplete" to me
