That one game where a dev screwed up so badly, gamers and game journos finally were on the same page...and then never were again.

Watching this go down in real time was a treat.

Cyberpunk went from "Ughh, too many bugs!" to "Wow! This is amazing!"

Failout 76 went from "complete garbage" to "ok"......

Also, "No Man's Sky" went from "unfinished, buggy mess" to "This is the Best Thing Ever!"

Just this once, gamers and the journalists were on the same side. Bethesda's work is so atrocious, it got THE MORTAL ENEMIES to call the truce against them.

It wasn't all the helmets, just a portion of them. What happened is that the helmets needed padding, and some of the padding turned out to be from a batch which had mold spores in it, capable of sprouting once exposed to the right climate. A very enclosed environment with sweat was the right climate. Inhaling mold can always be considered hazardous.

To be clear the collectors edition helmet is not the one that had mold. It was a different one from gamestop

30:15 - in all fairness, while bottles are dirt-cheap, molds for them cost an approximate fuckton of money. In other words... Bethesda went out of their damn way to make shittier AND more expensive product instead of simply paying for actual glass bottles! And those fuckass plastic shells failed at BEING THE DAMN BOTTLES too!

The difference between Cyberpunk and this game was that the devs didn't want to release the game in that bad state, but the executives made them do so anyway because at that time, they wanted their "executive bonuses" to make it for the accounting period of that year. IIRC.
This game however, is wholly just Bethesda dropping the ball entirely. There was barely a game there when it released. And you can tell that the entire development was betting on patching up the game in the future. They really just didn't care.

Man, my YouTube algorithm is wild; Star Wars lore, k-pop, Lego, politics and v-tuber reactors?

it really showed where Bethesda's focus as bugs took ages to fix but the moment the atom shop aka the way to win shop went down they when all out to fix it and the issue was solved and a new patch rolled out in mere hours XD

And Todd did disappoint again with Starfield.

I remember being deployed during that time and didn't believe how bad Fallout 76 was from what people were saying online. When I returned home, I tried it it out (after seeing how oddly cheap it was on the Xbox store) and that's when my opinion of Bethesda started severely declining.

"I don't wanna spend money on a game that's gonna be too buggy"
I wish more people would think like this. This is smart. You're smart- well, maybe on that but, still, smarter than average.
I do this exact same thing. It's just that a lot of the games I do want, either are too expensive or require better specs than I have, and I don't have money for that, most of the time. Then the games keep getting more and more expensive for more and more buggy states.

Seen a few new people reacting to this for the first time. Gotta love it

When I played 76 and saw the poorly detailed posters on some wall where the Radiation Rumble event takes place: Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies.

I REALLY hope you go back and try Cyberpunk 2077 again. I played it for the first time a year and a half ago and it was SO GOOD.
From the videos I've seen it was a buggy mess beyond belief, but they really cleaned it up and it's one of the best gaming experiences of the past decade in my opinion

If you want a series that sticks to the roots of the original fallout games, I’d recommend wasteland or even starting immediately on wasteland 3

Cyberpunk is actually good now btw, you should play it, in fact it's dlc is movie level writing.

The mold in the helmets was only in the nuke cola edition helmet. Not sure what made them different but thats where the cases of mold where

1:50 I once heard a 10 year old kid here in Poland say "skibidi six seven, aura aura aura"
