This is the greatest movie list that’s ever been made. The “Dark Children’s Fantasy” genre still holds strong to this day.

Labyrint is still one of my favourite movies. ( i'm 60 )

The 80’s was the golden age of dark fantasy. One film I didn’t see though was The Flight of Dragons.

The cat and mouse dialog between Atreyu and Gamorc in The Never Ending Story is deeper and more nuanced than most movies entire plots.

Not including Time Bandits on this list is a crime.

I'd have mentioned the Golden Child- Eddie Murphy has to rescue the embodiment of compassion from a demon played by Charles Dance.

You forgot 'Flight of Dragons' a great cartoon where a geeky guy is magically transported into his own D&D boardgame

I'd include Conan The Barbarian, Time Bandits, and Fire And Ice.

I have a co-worker who's kind of a genZ fan of dark fantasy and she was saying we needed more such movies. Almost every movie on this list is on the list I gave her.

Time Bandits and Excalibur were two of my fantasy favorites as a child in the 80s.

It should be noted the art direction and creature design of Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal were done by Brian Froud who is a phenomenal artist with some incredible published works

I've only seen The Dark Crystal, The Neverending Story, The Secret of Nimh, and Legend. Legend is my favorite.

Except for the Gate and Paperhouse, you just listed off my childhood. I'm still watching all of those on the regular.

Man, literally every single one of these movies was something that I watched constantly back in the day as a child of the 80s, I love every single one of these films. Absolutely perfect list.
