I have 7000 miles on my 992.2 GTS convertible, my 7th 911 and simply the best. Porsche engineering did a masterpiece. Besides hp, the significantly higher torque and impressive torque curve make it a superior daily. The engine sitting about 4 inches lower, the reworked suspension, wider rear tires and rear wheel steering are the basis for better driving dynamics as compared to the predecessor and negative acceleration (breaking power) is impeccable courtesy to the 992.1S turbo brakes the 992.2 GTS is equipped with. Everybody gets excited about the "hybrid" drivetrain, but the level of driving dynamics of the GTS is the really impressive part. I live in Switzerland and do a couple of mountain pass trips every year with 2-3 passes a day; true 992.2GTS territory and I can't imagine a better car for daylong mountain trips. It goes like a 992.1 Turbo, handles almost like a GT3 and looks like an ordinary Carrera.

Changed my 992.1 GTS for a 992.2 GTS...  I loved my 992.1 so here goes...I live in the middle of nowhere and use as a daily so swapped out the Centre Locks (better looking option as well) for practicality. The front air vanes look poop in pictures but blend and sit well in the flesh. Goes like a rocket and interestingly is a more enjoyable car as you can feel the "performance urgency" at any speed not just when you start to wring its neck. The car seems to be more comfortable for long runs than the old car and handling when pushed feels a more balanced car (RW steering?) inspiring even more confidence than the 992.1. Seats I have the 14 ways (sic) and optioned in the rears so  easier to manage the odd bit of extra luggage.  Fuel I did get up to 30 on a run with the 992.1  but now its tends to be more  like 28 mpg but I have a 30 minute A/B road sprint to the motorway and have not bought a Porsche just to to look at it! Ref the comments on the down shifts, I am not feeling anything untoward although I do use the paddles, a lot of the time. Dials and stuff... miss the little starter and the new VW parts bin starter is pretty lame for a £150K car although the whole infotainment and screens etc are really very impressive once you, sort of, understand it.  3 months and 3000 miles in, I am loving it.

Maybe the best option is to buy a lightly used Turbo S from any era. Everyone understands them.

As a Porsche fan, I'm sure they will do the hybrid gubbins as well as anyone and better than most. But before anyone gets too excited, I suggest they read the Porsche care advice for the hybrid battery. It's eye-opening.

Perhaps, it’s my age, but after the 991.1 Carrera S it didn’t get any better with regards to driving fun. 400 BhP is really enough for having fun on European B-roads. More is, with all respect, only necessary for people with ego issues. So I really do compliment you with the 718 Spyder!

And yeh the all digital screen is a miss and the exhaust position IMO.
I’m seen a trend lately where older Porsches are either disappearing off Autotrader or going up in price because new cars have no soul in them because of restrictions and technology rammed in them.

The 911 GT3 Touring(my dream car) is an example there were a lot for sale at one time and now half have gone as the newer 911s sound dull.

Firstly, I really like when you bring Tracey on board and you asked her good questions. I plead for doing this more often, it s a great addition! I just wish you had gone more into the details when driving yourself as you had most other versions to compare it with. A thing that really shocked me seeing it at our dealer was the interior quality, that start button is indeed shocking and something you instantly spot and identify as being cheap. It s money saved at the worst possible spot and I still have its feel in mind...we also got a Skoda and honestly, the quality of that plastic start button feels worse than the one we got in the Skoda. I also miss the rev counter a lot and personally didn t like the opening slats at the front, this plastic looks cheap and ruins the clean look. Anyway, really enjoyed the format and thx for the video!

As an owner of a 991.2 Turbo S on a spirited road trip I regularly get 30mpg so not sure where some of this economy is being “lost” ?!
I also have very comfortable sports bucket seats which fold for easy access to the back. Why on earth has this changed?!

Good job Ped, and always good to have the perspective of other drivers and Porsche owners too.  Another 4 weeks to wait for my 4GTS coupe!   I note you were driving a 2025 model year; for the 2026 model year, LHD GTS cars are available with the GT3 folding buckets AND rear seats.  There is currently no bucket seat option for new UK cars, neither the fixed nor folding ones. No idea why, but hopefully they will become available for those who prefer them.

I love my 2014 Cayman I bought 2 months ago on under 50,000 miles. It is true once you own a Porsche it is so hard to drive anything else. Mine is a 2.7 litre and does between 32 and 38 mpg combined driving. My local Porsche dealer is so welcoming and have answered questions normally over a coffee. Porsche staff don't judge you if you turn up in jeans and t shirt because you might be a millionaire, I'm not by the way. While waiting for some parts I was drooling over a red 911 targa at £161,000 but the sales person had the time to answer questions. I ended the conversation saying I would love the car but my wife and accountant wouldn't but perhaps one day. Please Porsche put the flat six back in the Cayman and add hybrid forget electric.

I just hate centre locks. Has them on a previous gen GTS, they go milky if you so much as show them even the mildest cleaning products and are £1k a set to replace. Then there are the tyre places that cant get the wheels off, not to mention the grief if you're on a road trip in the middle of nowhere. Would never spec them on any Porsche. I'd also bet they don't save a gram of weight either!  I'm not offended by the Hybrid bit, its an as well not instead of. Drove one at PEC Silverstone and it was a hoot.  Just that these are well over £150k with a few bits. Quite a lot for sale new and lightly used with decent discounts so they aren't flying out of the door at the moment.

I will be driving this car next week. Very excited to experience it.
