Adaptive cruise being a cost option on a £200k+ car in 2026 is an absolute piss take.

I wanted a turbo s for more than 10 years. It was my dream car, screen saver and background on my pc. Then my wife bought me a track day at Porsche’s silverstone track and I tried one. It was a 992.1. It was amazing, but also way, way too fast for the road. It was clear you’d never get to push it that much and, as Joe said, you’d probably have a run in with the constabulary. Since then I’ve just let it go. Recently bought an M3 touring, which is more than fast enough and more practical, and I’m very happy with it. Doesn’t have the cache or driving dynamics of a 911, but it does fit my golf clubs and can take my son to uni. Great video Joe.

A very honest and useful review.  I have a comparatively puny 400bhp 911 and it honestly feels powerful enough for public roads.  As an aside I have an EV too - I have this creeping feeling that some powerfully equipped PDK 911s are starting to feel a bit like EVs!  I know that’s a crime to say, but it’s a thought I’m having.

Everyone said the 992.1 didnt sound good, but actually it had a very nice gt2rs ish roar to it. This 992.2 lost it all tho and replaced it with speakers😢

I feel like we are at a point where these cars are just for the flex. You genuinely cannot utilise anything more than a Carrera / Carrera T on the public roads safely

Turbo S has always been a straight line car. I find the acceleration pretty impressive. If it is comparable to an electric car, thats a big statement.

The analog tacho needs to come back...it was such a beautiful detail. I don't even care if I can't actually read the other dials... 😅 The starter button is really bad, you're 100% right about that. It's nice that they finally reduced the cabin noise. Also, I think the 992.1 looked much better fromt the outside than this 992.2; those fins don't do it for me and the separate indicators were iconic.

I’ll start by saying I’m in a GTS 992.2.
I drove the S, GT3, GT3 RS and the 992.1 Turbo. The GTS experience was far and away the most incredible of the bunch. The GT3s were far higher price per spec and even the touring wasn’t an ideal road car. The GTS laid the 992.1 and S to waste at every measure. The t-hybrid isn’t a negative, it’s a mass positive. It’s the definition of a sleeper. Still sounds nice. Hint, just open your door when you do a cold start and hear that exhaust. I think they only pump in the sounds to the cabin because the isolation is so good! Get a cabriolet and let her scream with the top down and you’ll be grinning ear to ear.

Need more? I just watched Matt Armstrong get passed by two GT3s on the Nurburgring like he was standing still in his custom Ferrari. This platform is absolutely ridiculous and makes most other cars in this class look trashy.

I’m a huge fan of t-hybrid and I’m looking forward to the GT3 changes we’ll see coming. Change doesn’t have to be a negative but it’s almost always received that way. Reber the hissy fits when the 911 went water cooled? Thank god the real experts at Porsche design don’t pay attention to that kind of rubbish. They’ve built an insane car.

Very surprised at this conclusion. I’ve come from lots of GT3s and RSs and had a number of 992 3 litre cars.  Absolutely love the 992.2 Turbo S and really didn’t like the 3 litre cars. The 3 litre engine sounds harsh and stressed at the top register whereas this turbo rewards going there. It handles fantastically and is more of an event to drive than previous water-cooled turbos.

Bro, I have a 2014 911 Carrera 4S I put a F1 exhaust on it. It’s a Cabriolet so it’s got all the goodies like PDK launch control sport Chrono package PASM and also has Porsche torque vectoring, which is basically for handling when you’re going around a tight corner say to the right it speeds up the outside wheels while it applies breaks to the inside wheels creating a pendulum affect to make it go around faster same thing if you’re making a left term would be the opposite it would apply more torque to the outside wheels and breaking to the inside wheels making your left turn super fast. This is on top of it being a 4S I love the fact that it’s a 4S first of all the body looks beautiful. My car doesn’t have to be the fastest car in the world but the way it handles is something out of a science fiction book? It really literally defies the laws of physics I can be going in One Direction and just decide to turn last minute onto another street and there it is not even a squeal of a tire. Nothing that’s crazy. God bless it. I bought it brand new. It’s got about 30,000 miles on it. The reason I’m mentioning this is it sounds 10 times better than this turbo it revs all the way up to 7800 RPM so I got regular mode sport mode, and sport plus mode with the F1 exhaust it just seems unbelievable especially with the top down. It’ll do 0 to 60 in about four seconds. that’s plenty fast for me and a top speed of 187 miles an hour. Where am I gonna do that except the Audubon or a racetrack of course nothing like naturally aspirated flat six 911s they’re just in a league of their own.
