You are the best on utube. This is the channel for beginners. You explain steps very well. I’ve been sewing for many years and enjoy watching you. Tfs

Chelsea because of you I’m taking my sewing machine out of the closet and so excited about making things you are teaching!

When I put elastic into a casing, I mark my overlap spot on the elastic, but I don't cut it.  After I push the elastic through the casing, I have a long piece of elastic hanging out, no worries that it will get lost in the casing.  Then I gather the fabric over the elastic and find the overlap mark.  I sew the two ends together before I cut the elastic off.
I find it works best for me this way.  Maybe it will help someone else, too.
Thanks for this tutorial.  These would be good for raising bread dough in a bowl, too.

Before saran wrap, people would treat their cloth with bees wax to make it to where it would keep the moisture in the food when they covered the  food with the bees wax  fabric. So if  You want to soak the bowl cover in bees wax and let it dry then it will be safe to cover food with.

I wonder if it would be easier to sew two circles together then sew 1/2 for a casing?  Hmmm.  I think I will try that.
I love the covers, what a great hostess gift idea.

You could use a plastic freezer bag to be food safe with these

This is very cute!  I hate that I'm telling you this, but oh my goodness don't forget to close the blade on your cutter!  :hand-pink-waving::face-pink-tears:

I am excited to sew again!! I got an old machine out because my son volunteered me to sew new covers for the neighbors 20 year old lawn chairs (he didn't save the old one for a template 😢). . . I got it done and went to the Dollar Tree to get drying mats and hand towels to attempt a carrier for a 9 x 13 pan. Get for taking stuff to church fellowships!

Before you mentioned the shower curtain I was thinking about making one of these for my bread bowl for when I have bread rising. I make bees wax wraps, you could easily wax one of these and cover bread dough with it or use it to keep food from drying out. ❤

Love this! I'm a "super" beginner and this seems easy enough and you make great tutorials (especially the slower ones). Thank you for all you do.

My mother worked in a sewing factory in Korea as a young teenager and a needle broke and flew into her eye and she has constantly had eye issues. She didn’t lose her eye until many years later and now just uses a glass eye.

Why not apply the bias tape from the back side of the cover, then when your flip out to the pretty side, you can easily topstitch right where you want it and it'll look great. Takes the guess work out of it.

Ty Chelsea a friend gave me a set but now I understand how to use them

i am so grateful for you. i enjoy you so much!! you make me smile. this was fun

The bias tape makes it so cute!! I have seen it without but I like your way so much better. Thanks for sharing your talent with us ☀️🌺

Love your channel Chelsea.

Watching you sew is giving me the confidence to use my mom's old sewing machine and tackle an easy, small stakes project that doesnt matter if i make some beginner mistakes.

Keep teaching and showing us new things about bias tape and other tips and tricks! Appreciate you!

Maybe you can make a video about beginners maintenance of sewing machine. How to thread the machine. How to put the needle in. Basic troubleshootig that you have to do when sewing.

Once again you are motivational and fun. I have yards and yards of elastic from pandemic mask days. Thanks for your time

Instead of a shower liner, you could use a 2qt zip lock bag (cut to size). Then it would be food safe

I use to make a set of 3 and sell them at the Farmers Markets! I used Rick Rack instead of bias tape..and pulled the elastic with a zig zag stitch. Makes me want to make them again 😊.  Thanks for sharing 👍

I just have to comment that my 6 year old likes to watch you videos with me💜 love your videos 💓
