22:51 This is a reference to a Churchill's speech during WW2. Achoo did a speech referencing Malcom X.

there's a reason the sheriff in this movie reminds you of alan rickman, as this is a parody of a robinhood movie where alan played the sheriff in that movie.

The facepalm I did when a Brit didn't understand the Winston Churchill reference 😂😂😂😂😂

Cary Elwes based his Wesley character off of Errol Flynns portrayal of Robin Hood, and then was later approached by Mel Brooks to play Robin Hood.

" He remind me of Alan Rickman, i dont know why"
Its because he is parodying Alan Rickman From Robin Hood movie

"Blazing Saddles", "Young Frankenstein", and "History of the World: Part I" are must-see Mel Brooks films.

"Did you say Abe Lincoln?" is still my favorite joke 😂

"You know, a mime is a terrible thing to waste ... ... ."

The pill was a lifesaver candy.

Will Scarlett O’Hara joke is a reference to Scarlett O’Hara from Gone with the Wind which is set in Georgia.

"HEY ABBAATT!" gets me every time 😆

Blazing Saddles is another Mel Brooks film that had a black sheriff. You need to watch that!

This movie is absolutely timeless! It’s also one of my go to movies whenever I feel really depressed and need to lift my spirits.

I had Reebok pumps once, I was the king at school for a day.

Most of what you missed were the references to Robin Hood Prince of Thieves (huge blockbuster of the time, starring Kevin Costner) - this film is a direct parody of that (though obviously with a lot of other bits thrown in) - that's also why you spotted the Sheriff was a bit like Alan Rickman - Rickman played the Sheriff in that film.  The magic pill at the end wasn't a Polo (which is what it looks like to us Brits) it's actually a 'Lifesaver' (which is a similar US sweet).  The trainers Achoo was wearing near the beginning where he 'needs some air' were a dumb fashion thing of the early 90s - squeeze the bits on the tongue and it pumps up the shoes.  The weird kid that runs around screaming is a reference to 'Home Alone' (another big film series)  (blond kid putting palms on either side of his face and screaming was a meme many at the time would instantly recognise).  And no, I have no idea how Marion pee'd with that chastity belty on either...

The Never give up, never surrender speech was Winston Churchill in WW2.

@alyska the reason the Sheriff reminds you of Alan Rickman is because this film is a direct parody of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves in which Rickman plays the Seriff. That movie is worth the watch for Rickman’s performance alone

You have to watch "Dracula Dead and Loving It" and "Young Frankenstein"! And if you're in the mood for silly, watch "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"

"Never once have you invited me to your home..." - "Godfather" reference.

Robin Hood: "I've come to warn you that if you do not stop levying these evil taxes, I shall lead the good people of England in a revolt against you."
Prince John: "And why should the people listen to you?"
Robin Hood: "Because, unlike some other Robin Hoods, I can speak with an English accent."
