As a child at Christmastime I listened to the films with Cole Porter songs and I have never forgotten them. As an adult I realise the lyrics are so heartfelt they are genius.

Cole Porter is from Peru, Indiana. I am from Marion, Indiana...not too far. I will always be appreciative and proud to know that Cole Porter was from Indiana. He was a prime example of how creative genius was nurtured right in the middle of USA. Today's composers do not even compare. Thank you for all the great music, Mr Porter!!

The 20's and 30's just would NOT have been the 20's and 30's without him. His music is intrinsic to that time.

I was introduced to Cole Porter as a small child decades ago-he truly was unforgettable and funny even to a child. I was in awe when I heard his music!

I'm a 78 year old songwriter -- words and music -, and the compliments I cherish the most are when someone sees a smidgen of Cole Porter in my work

That is the cutest picture of Cole Porter when he was a little boy. Love his hat.

What really stands out is he must have wanted to contribute to the music as he didn't really need material success.

His music got "under my skin." I never tire of his clever lyrics and totally original melodies. Some times I think I should have been alive in the thirties and forties.

Imagine, in 1990, Kitty Carlisle Hart, Bobby Short, Gene Kelly, Alfred Drake, Lisa Kirk, and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. were still alive. I'm getting old.

Cole Porter: Brilliance ✨️💫
Bobby Short at the Carlyle Room in NYC, he was amazing. I spent many hours with Bobby.
Cole Porter was elegant with magnificent artistry. What a moment in time with all those connected with art.
