I was born in Sicily and immigrated to the United States when I was 10 years old. I went back after 40+ years later and found it more beautiful than I remembered. I loved the beaches, arancini and gelato.

I've been living in Sicily for 24 years. The biggest problem is definitely efficiency but you have to take the good with the bad.

As a sicilian i was afraid this video was going to give biased point of views and not facts. But in reality this video is very accurate and i think it can apply to most of southern Italy, not only Sicily. The heat for example is extremely high during summer, 1 year ago in July we reached 47 celsius during day and 42 during night which made it impossible to sleep without air conditioning.

I lived in Sicily for two years. I would visit it any day but yes, the problem is the food is far too nice!

As an Sicilian who lives in England always go in the spring it’s hot but not to hot and it’s not packed with tourists

Love Sicily. Currently planning our 4th vacation there, always off season avoiding tourist hotspots. Google translator strugges with the Sicilian dialect so brush up on your hand signing ... but be careful, some local gestures have different meanings, not all of them friendly or polite

Abroad if you look for food in a bar ...you will find just drrinks...in Sicily you can have food at 1 euro....abroad with 1 euro you can gi just to a toilet

24 hours you can eat and drink....abroad restaurant close at 9.30pm

Lidos in Genova are also crowded in the summer. But yes, Sicily should be visited not in July or August, the rest of the year is much better. And yes, Palermo has many homeless people. I have a friend from Catania that finds it to be much more poor than Catania. Yes, in Sicily you must speak Italian, it is not Milan or Genova.
