I agree with what Wil Gunter said on inside Gamecocks, the problem is South Carolina has the money to do a buyout but don't have the money to do that and also go out and get what is necessary like a real "bigboy" coach and staff to turn it around and compete in the conference, so until the university can afford it, I guess we stay mediocre and pissed off every week or stop showing up at games and force the administration to finally get it right, but in the meantime go ahead and spend 350 million on stadium renovation for a piss poor coach led team?  so we can be watching losing games in the lap of luxury sky boxes ? ridiculous

It’s worth a shot everyone sees where we are at, we definitely need a change.

The change needs to be in the secondary

Its a shot but i want that guy that saved the marshall program coaching for us

Doing good job im bama fan continue the good work.

Not sure what fixes things but I agree something has to change, I do believe offensive line is on the right track need to keep him around and he follows brilles

Hey Rooster good word today on where we’re at near mid -season. Money, budget, donors, & fanbase turn the wheels at every College & University Athletics program. Regardless of what the University decides about Coach Beamer, hopefully the heads will do some serious strategic long term planning going forward to elevate our foothold in the SEC. I believe the changes that have & continue to occur in College football with the transfer portal, NIL contracts,& player poaching have created problems & issues that are  hindering Coaches in recruiting, &  building rosters. Especially at the less strong football programs. Additionally, some coaches are still hung onto older coaching mindsets that just aren’t working now. It’s all above my pay grade but thanks for letting me share my thoughts.

I'd say lets give this a shot. No where to go but up when you have been rock bottom.

Here is my 2 cents.. i already said because of the connection between our AD and briles, that moght be what helped to bring him to columbia. The chance to get the HC position. And honestly, im ok with it.. do we forget that beamer was a coordinator? And a new one with ZERO track record other than a little special teams.  But we hired him (unfortunately). As i have said before there is a coaching "changing of the guard", where there are no more old school big names to get. You MUST roll the dice and hope to find the next coach that will be a big thing. Problem is, if he wins here, you are gonna jave to pay him BIG.. or expect to see him in another color soon.

If it's Briles he will most likely bring his brother in law from Mississippi State as dc. He has a history of top 5 defenses. It would be a great hire.

Briles, and De Notti are tight from the years in Ft. Worth at TCU. That definitely makes sense. If they decide to keep Beamer, the Fans should IMMEDIATELY start going to Willie B ASAP!!!

I think they should give Kendall Briles a chance at coach

Hell no just let Briles finish it out as interim & still go out to get your head coach. you have to pay to play. no way financially they will risk hiring another coordinator. get a real coach

Thanks rooster for the video.  Quick thought On the defense: no secret the safety play in coverage sucks.  Never been this bad with the same coaches.  Only thing that is different back there is Luke Doty working with the safeties now under gray.  I think this was to just find him a spot on the staff.  He never played defense as we know.  That being said i love Doty gamecock thru and thru.  again just a thought

You gonna like this my Friend Rooster: Quarterback looks good! So what is Carolina's problem? BEAMER!!!!
Mike Shula: Senior offensive assistant (hired March 2026, working with QBs)
Minnesota Golden Gophers 4-1 (2–0 in the Big Ten)
Sep 3 vs Eastern Illinois W 59–7
Sep 12 vs Mississippi State L 38–13
Sep 19 vs Akron W 41–7
Sep 26 @ Washington W 27–24
Oct 3 vs Michigan W 20–14

It makes sense Rooster. Perhaps the reason they have not pulled the trigger on Beamer is that they know they want Briles as the next coach. So if you wait and fire  Beamer at the end of the season, you save yourself five or $6 million and then name Kendall as head coach

If they don't get rid of Beamer. They at least need to make a QB change put Woods in and bench Sellers

What about shawn elliot we should give him a shot. Some time you coach  better when you are from that state.

Spot on there Rooster can’t disagree with one word!!

You have to hold Ray Tanner responsible for even getting us into this situation.  Why would you tie the university into a long-term contact with this guy or the last guy.
They had no leverage.  No school was going to come in here and take either one of these guys.  I think the new AD is smarter than that and will do the right thing.
Beamer is not an $8 million coach.  Who put him up there?  Ray Tanner.  He was a great baseball coach but not a smart AD.  Who signs contracts like this when you have all the leverage?  Bring in a $4 million coach and that will leave $4 million toward Beamer's buyout.  Halfway there.  You can't evaluate the situation and his performance and with any logic decide he should stay.  It is all about the money.  Any business manager would not tolerate a marginal employee in the top position.
