I was 10 years old during the summer of '73.  I collected more baseball cards that year than any other year.  I still have those cards, including 2 Mike Schmidt rookie cards.

The only problem I have with your content is that there simply isn't enough of it. The amount of homework you did for this in mind-boggling. Thanks as always for the time and effort you put into your videos. Outstanding!

I loved those cartoons on the back

For some odd reason, the 1972 set has always been my favorite.

I LOVE the 1973 set.  My favorite of all time.  I love the weird/bad action shots.  I was 7 years old when it came out.

I'd be happy if Topps still did some spring training photos.  Like 10% would be nice.

I was 9  in Summer 1973     -   I have half of the 1973 set-   but have almost every 1972 card....

This is a great video. Made me appreciate this set all over again!

Now THIS is why I come on YouTube, to actually LEARN something. This might be the best video I have ever seen regarding baseball cards. I love the 1973 set and it's great how you broke everything down. I actually do love the action shots (the Bonds card is my favorite). I never knew the story behind the background in the George Scott shot. You obviously went to a lot of trouble to find a lot of great info on this set. 73 was my very first set and I still love it, even though looking back at it, you can see the set has a lot of shortcomings.  Please keep producing these great videos!

Outstanding review of this set. The most valuable card in my opinion was the Roberto Clemente card. He had tragically died in the off season but they still released a card of him.

Great job! The detective work is awesome. One interesting note about this set is that Topps did experiment with doing away with series late in 1973. I was living in New Hampshire, and I found that they sold packs with series 4, 5 and 6 commingled. Included in these packs was a blue-bordered team checklist card, identical to what they would do in 1974, although the ‘74 team checklists wer red bordered. I ended up with several “complete sets” of these checklist cards.

the year i was young enough to have actually collected..  omg     forgot they were wackey packs... i collected them too..

The Agee shot is my favorite. Agee, Boswell and Staub all in airbrushed Astros orange at a game played at Shea. Agee went to Houston after the 1972 season, so he had not played for the Astros any time earlier.

Wow! You definitely live up to your names CURATOR. You take collecting to a whole new level. Very interesting and informative.

Not sure why but this popped up and was my first video I watched in 2026 🤯 so freaking good. 🤙🤙

I’m back to the hobby after 35 years. This was the first set I collected when I was 7 years old. I am now trying to finish it.

I don't think the younger generation understand how unfancy things were back in the '70s.

I remember the Pete Rose card @1:17. My older brother would collect cards and had what seems lot a hundred of these.

That 1973 Clemente card in 16:12 was a posthumous homage, he had died on December 31, 1972 🇵🇷.

Fantastic job… you obviously put a lot of time, effort, and love into this video.  Thank you!
I973 Topps has a special place in my collecting heart… as a kid, it was the first set for which I had enough money to buy packs on my own.
