I’ve been waiting on this video. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I understand why you like the ‘78 and older CT70s and even the clones of those bikes. Heck, you’re Minibike Mike! I don’t think the Honda Mini Moto line can be considered mini bikes. They are small motorcycles, but they aren’t made for 11 and 12 year olds to ride around in the fields and dirt roads behind grandma’s house. The original CT70s and their clones have that nostalgia that we all long for. Nostalgia that reminds us of how much we loved our dads and grandparents for buying us minibikes, SL70s, and CT70s and allowing us to enjoy amazing childhoods that we’ll never forget. Thank you for sharing Mike. Stay safe out there on the roads.
I bought one 2 weeks ago 3795 otd, I Hate the front fender, the seat feels like a perch initially, I hate the heal shifter, and haven’t seen a simple replacement for it. The fit and finish is outstanding, but my favorite part is the overall Smoothness of the whole bike. It makes the things I don’t like irrelevant so I will probably leave it completely stock.
Nice review Mike. I just recently bought a new Ice Bear Champion, built May 19th 2026. Those rides you take out on the country roads inspired me to relive my childhood. What a fun bike. Thanks for the inspiration. I live in Avon, so if you have more Spring rides, who knows, you may see me there. 🫡
The Dax 125 is such a cool looking bike. Love the big chrome exhaust pipe, gives it a very original look. Not something I typically see on a minimoto. I don't know what bike broke down on you but I bet this Dax won't. Honda reliability is real and that little thing will probably keep on going.
At present I still own a Skyteam 125cc (4-speed manual clutch), the Chinese Dax replica. Bought it in 2015. In the 80 ties I had a real Honda Dax (70cc 4 speed, no clutch). I'm toying with the idea of selling my larger BMW F800R bike, as well as the Skyteam, and then obtaining this new Dax. It's 30kg's more in weight compared to the Skyteam, therefore I think of installing a kit that makes it more powerful, as I'm almost always riding with a pillion (and as you did, changing the gear pedal, and putting a rack on it). The new Dax may use fuel sparingly, but it has only has a 3.8l fuel tank (the Skyteam holds 5.5l).
Mike, I don't know you but you seem very friendly. I love your videos and I followed you on your journey. Dude, greetings from germany.🙋♂️☮️ Marc with his ST70
Hi Mike and Dax fans! The Spanish custom manufacturer La Poderosa offers a dual saddlebag mount (in chrome); I’ve looked at various photos of it, and the design is really clever. Installation is easy, and it has a load capacity of 10 kg per side—which is quite substantial. At 185 euros plus VAT, I think the price is very fair. Greetings from Germany.
I agree with you Mike I think people misunderstand the DAX as being an updated ct70 when they only just look similar. Honda did not make it to ride trails, it is basically like a semi auto grom dressed up at a CT It was made for street riding which was their goal.
3rd Generation Kawasaki KLR650 mirrors are great on my CT125. I also put them on my RE 350 Classic. The Kawasaki mirrors are lower and wider than the Honda mirrors. especially cheap if you can find takeoffs as a lot of the ADV riders that buy the KLR put DoubleTake mirrors on their bikes.
Nice Doxie with a beautiful colour!US-Models anyway shift up by lifting the gear shifter up. Here in Europe, we shift up by kicking the shifter down... and we shift down by kicking down with a heel... You can tell if the rider is experienced if he uses the heel.
