hello again - i'm up to date on your cabinet of curiosities, jonesing for the next, and now going through your video oeuvre.  and bought your book! can't wait to receive it. Di, i think all my knitting life has brought me to this point: i must knit a gansey. finding you and sheila, instantly connecting with your vibe, and yearning for more - it's time. i will say that i bought RB-R's book, started knitting her wee sampler, got stuck and reached out to her for help. her reply was for me to buy her cd....  kinda off-putting, so i put the project down. a few years ago now. meanwhile, i came to discover that i am of Cornish descent! i am an 11th generation American - my family 'came over on the boat' not long after the first arrivals, and settled in Tennessee. I always knew i had 10 prior generations, but only recently found out they lived in and launched from Cornwall! so now, i will try and incorporate some of those patterns into my gansey, when i finally cast on - and hopefully, i'll find them in your book! i can't tell you how excited this makes me...! cheers! libby

I was just about to try making half the armhole gusset, putting stitches on to yarn, casting on over the gap to make a steek section, so I could continue in the round up to the shoulder and with short row shaping, do a 3 needle bindoff. Now I am going to have to work out a saddle as well, just because....

Would be interested to know where you obtain sturdy 1mm pins

Thanks a lot for your explanations. I am preparing my first garnsey meeting and knitting at Leer at the end of February and I am so glad I found your Chanel on YouTube.
