He did not get official conjugal visits. He bribed a corrupt prison officer to give him some alone time. As to how he got married that would be the crazy USA Court system

Ted was left alone a lot as a kid i believe...It's evident with his fantasy life being so strong.He was allowed to develop them over years and years as a young person. He loved his fantasies more than anything.
