Eli is a 2019 Netflix horror movie that is one of the most ridiculous pieces of content I’ve seen on the Netflix platform. With a twist that is so crazy that I was honestly left shocked. So obviously I had to make a video about it.
In Eli, A boy becomes trapped in a haunted house while undergoing a mysterious doctor's miraculous treatment for a rare disease. In this video, I break down the outrageous plot of this movie.

0:00 this movie is crazy
1:09 this place is weird
3:02 this movie is not very good
5:27 the plot thickens
7:45 the movie gets crazy
9:44 bruh

Missed opportunity with the thumbnail, title it "Boy touches grass, instantly regrets it"

This feels like a movie that had the script suddenly mixed up with another movie, so they had to just roll with the changed ending

This film comes off as if a director decided to write down a weird ass dream they had one time but never thought to get decent writers who could expand upon it. Genuinely cool concept, but the execution is all over the place and the horror doesn't hit at all.

That clip of the kid aggressively hyperventilating while touching grass has mad meme potential

Now that I think about it more, with sunlight and "impure water" physically hurting Eli, it felt like it would've made more sense if the twist was that Eli was a vampire.

The pitch meeting for this movie:
"Alright, I want to make a horror movie."
"Okay, what genre?"
"Yes."

I remember being bored watching this movie and I died laughing at the upside down t-posing nurses scene.

I watched this with my grandfather who has dementia. At the end he said “I really enjoy these comedies you pick” 😂

"Raw dogs the surgery." That is a relatively accurate portrayal of how they extract bone marrow from your hip. My wife had this done. It's pretty horrible irl.

The Boy In the Plastic Bubble + Rosemary's Baby + The Exorcist + Coma + Interstellar + X-Men = Eli

To clarify, when operating with anything below the waist (if it is not a large area to operate), usually, the anesthetic if only going to affect the lower body, thus there is no need for him to be asleep for the operation, especially when they are only taking bone marrow (which I can assume is what they are doing in the movie).

Next, most operations with the brain requires the patient to be awake, to continually assess their cognitive function. They will be given a mild sedative to make you feel relaxed, but the anesthetic a general type.

My sister accidentally started this movie on my Netflix account once and stopped at like the 20 minute mark. I thought "Hey, why not watch it?"
I get why she stopped it now.
