Well I enjoyed this video and I agree with you 100% Gene you should always stay with your table watch people and be willing to share your love of art and that's what I do I sit on the streets of Gatlinburg and there's a lot of people that never seen a wood carver never heard of a wood carver and shocking but that is the way the world is right now we grew up different we learn to build with our hands use what God gave us is our brain but I still push on I still try to teach people you can do this if you just sit down for a few minutes and I will show you the fundamentals of wood carving you can make anything have a blessed one prayers for your granddaughter and I enjoyed watching you carve this flamingo I do a lot of bird carving too I haven't done one of these in a long time I guess I'm going to have to now you got my brain of thinking Great one brother
And then there is and old man like me that was inspired by you, Doug, Johnny, and a couple of others lol. You guys are a joy to watch! I'm a late bloomer lol. I agree with your advice about being respectful at shows. There aren't any shows remotely around us. But, we had been in other hobbies where we competed and/or shown our wares. I'll remember your granddaughter!. Enjoyed and take care!
Prayers for your granddaughter Gene. Have they done an Alpha-gal test on her. That's what I got, from the lone star tick years ago. Terrible allergy. Thanks for your wonderful carving videos.
Today several of us from our carving club will begin meeting every Thursday at a senior center to carve from 1-4. There was another group from our club that's been doing it for years at another senior center on Tuesdays and it's been pretty successful.
really enjoyed your video. When are you going to be back in Gatlinburg? Do you have a video that goes over how you go about setting up a scene for a carving display? by the way i am Rickey Hooper from South Carolina.
