One incentive to shoot the doom diver at infantry units is the ability to circumvent targeting rules. You may get lucky and plant the dot on the wizard chilling within 3". Peg knight characters often don't have enough rank and file models to look out sir and are vulnerable even when bunkered.

As someone who runs nightgoblin only lists, nightgoblins at range can still deal excellent damage even after the poison nerfs! I have two 40 man shortbow units of night gobs and one melee unit with Battle standard Raggedy flag for winning on CR. In order to make Night goblins dreaded at range you need a night goblin shaman with itchy nuisance, idol of gork and power scroll. the +3'' of range from Idol of gork makes itchy nuisance an 18'' spell, meaning it has the same range as shortbows, and can eviscerate T4 and above units at range. The reroll for casting from idol of gork and power scroll ensures you get the spell off at least once during a game for a devestating turn of shooting and stand and shoot. I once demolised a quarter of a bretonnian army that was sunk into a unit of 10 grail knights just from fanatic and shortbow combo, so they can kill things when you build into them! Give shortbow units razor banner as well and they can give even knights a fright with their AP.

Night Goblins: die to a stiff breeze, kill each other more than enemies, and still somehow a top-tier unit. Peak Greenskin energy 😂 Also, Snotling launchers when?!

Nice video!! But if I'm not mistaken, techically when two fanatics colide they don't kill each other! They just suffer D6 F5 AP(-3) each, wich 99% times (not real math 😅) results on killing each other, but you can be lucky and roll four ones in a row and they both be safe and sound. 😂

Great advice! Thanks.

Great stuff, Paddy. Thank you muchly.

Hello from France and Bonne Année !

Can't wait for top 36 Dwarf units! (Or else it's going in the book . . .)

My best Fanatic win? Wiped out a unit of Empire knights :)

Hope you guys had a great Christmas break 🎄

Is there a wood elf character breakdown like you did for High Elves?

Also....some ogre kingdoms content 👌

Snotlings are a sleeper killer unit

Awesome vid mate, once more. I'm taking four of the five to Summer Smash; I dropped the Orcs! I'm bringing two blocks of 30 Night Gobbos with hw/s for the first time since 8th ed...

if two fanatics clash, they do not die, just both takes 1D6 impacts (almost die but....maybe survive)

I like black orcs alot

Great list. It is only missing a wyvern which I understand as it is a character.

The change to release is powerful but fanatics are:

-Locked behind character AND 30 man unit tax
-can double out on release, meaning you lose 1 immediately about half the time
-are as likely to do 1 hit as 6
-don’t ignore armor any more
-stay still 1/3rd of the time after releasing (this can be good for blocking if you undershot but can also limit their damage output if you didn’t)

Once they fixed MSU marching column goblins from the very beginning of the game, if someone still thinks fanatics are too powerful, probability is high they recently lost to fanatics.

I run forest goblin blocks of 60+ with nasty skulkerz. They work brilliantly. Esp with raggedy flag

great video, 4 of those 5 are in my new O&G army for oldhammer.... another option for the boar boyz is the new totem of wrath, mean combined with Choppas they are rerolling 1s to hit and wound on the charge with an extra ap to boot.

If anything, I think you’re underrating Squig hoppers. They’ll reliably kill heavy cavalry if they get the charge, which they can due to skirmish and random move. They die to incidental shooting but they’re cheap enough that’s not the end of the world.

Orc boys deserve a shout, but I feel like they’re the unit we’ve collectively figured out how to build least? All the others on here the usage seems much better defined.

Also I’m guessing this is done for grand army? In troll horde I’d give a shout to the Hag or maybe the rivers troll. In nomadic Waagh, high combat res wolf riders are a terror.

as a night goblin player the hate is real lol, everything i run is too good or too cheap or both. when you drop one thing they complain about another. mangalers op, squig hopers broken, fanatics game breaking. nets way too good for cost. and the big one night goblins too good with warband for the cost lol. oh and i can run too many characters and they are too cheap too. but i still love to play them!
